TODAY:

 1.  Redwood will be launching a Tardy Pilot Program to address students out of class.  The purpose of the Pilot Program is to promote academic success and deter students from being tardy to class or out of class without permission.  Students must have an appropriate pass to be out of class or late to class. Examples of an appropriate pass will include: teacher-provided Redwood pass and Redwood counseling, attendance, office, or nurse passes).  Any student without an appropriate pass will have their ID scanned and/or name taken down.  Consequences for being out of class without permission will be loss of off campus lunch privileges and/or an assigned detention. This Pilot Program will begin TODAY and will end on Friday, June 2nd.
2.       GREEN CLUB MEETING will be in Mrs. Eskridge's Room 33 TODAY to discuss our participation at the Earth Day Festival April 22nd!

 1.  CSF CURRENT LIFETIME MEMBERS have a MANDATORY MEETING TODAY in Room 108 at 12:30 p.m. during lunch.  Seniors will receive their lifetime certificates and last minute instructions for the luncheon that will be held on April 25th.  Please come prepared with your completed transportation form and memorized oral presentation.  The mini-speech should include name, university attending, major, special interest, someone to thank, any other pertinent info. 4.       Link crew applications 2017-2018!!  If you are interested in mentoring the Freshman Class next year and help them adjust to life here at Redwood please pick up an application.  You can pick them up in the office on the information wall or in Counseling/Attendance Office.  Mrs. Wall will also have some in her Sierra Vista classroom SVPE if you would like to pick up there.  Applications are due by TODAY!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
1.       HIP HOP AUDITIONS Thursday April 27th and Friday April 29th at lunch in the Dance Room.  Students will learn a hip hop combination on the first day and audition the second day.
2.       Redwood families, friends and faculty, please come out to the Redwood Softball's PINK (Cancer Awareness) game against Lemoore on Friday April 28th.  Varsity plays at 4:30 p.m., JV game to follow.  ALL proceeds/donations from the evening will go to our recipient, a Redwood parent and former Redwood Softball parent, who is currently battling breast cancer.  Come support Redwood Softball and help Strike Out Cancer!
3.       SENIORS:  REMINDER, in order to participate in graduation in June, YOU MUST HAVE A 94% attendance rate on graduation day.  There are only 5 Saturday School Dates remaining this school year!  Plan to attend if you know you are in danger of falling below the 94% attendance rate.  Please continue to communicate with the Redwood attendance office to check your status.
4.       LINK CREW APPLICATIONS ARE DUE THIS WEEK to Mrs. Wall in PE or to the Main Office to be placed in her mailbox!
5.       REDWOOD's SATURDAY UNIVERSITY is up and running again!  Saturday University allows you to participate in engaging classes such as auto, woodshop, physical education, physical education, science projects, math, reading, technology and much more!  This is NOT a credit recovery program.  Saturday University is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  See the following teachers:  Eastman (woodshop - 54) Rooney (metal - 56) Henshaw (video - 75) Laufer (Chemistry - 94) Wall (PE - Gym) Cox (auto - 55) to sign up for a spot!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1.       The DANCE DEPARTMENT will be having their 17th ANNUAL DANCE SHOW, "RTV"Ranger Television April 20th and April 21st at 7:00 p.m., April 22nd at 5:00 p.m. (tickets - $10, available in the RHS Finance Office).  This year's show includes a variety of technology effects (thanks to our Video Class) along with music from our favorite TV shows that makes you want to get up out of your seat and dance!
2.       Don't cook on April 20th.  Drive through BAND/COLOR GUARD Dinner Fundraiser - Redwood parking lot from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.  DEEP PIT BEEF, Rice Pilaf, Green Beans, Roll.  Only $10!!  Get your tickets from any Band or Color Guard Member; or call 559-799-8460.
3.       GIRLS INTERNATIONAL TRYOUTS:  MANDATORY Tuesday April 25th and Wednesday April 26th for auditions at lunch.  Tuesday is learning the routine and Wednesday is tryouts.
4.       GRADUATION SPEECH:  Senior Graduation Speech Auditions will take place during lunch on Wednesday April 26th and Thursday April 27th.  If you are a senior interested in writing and giving the graduation speech, please sign-up in the Counseling Office by Friday April 21st.
5.       INTERNATIONAL BOYS AUDITIONS for next year are Thursday April 27th at lunch in the Dance Room.

 1.  PTSA MEETINGS will be April 24th, and May 22nd in the Redwood Library at 5:30 p.m.
7.       TRASHION SHOW!  Are you interested in seeing your own fashion design on the runway?  Redwood is hosting the first ever all high school recycled material fashion show!  If you want to participate as a designer or model, please see Mrs. Yates or Mr. Harris ASAP!  Designs are due by April 28th!
8.       The AVID PROGRAM is looking for donations for our yard sale:  clothing, small appliances, kitchenware, accessories, etc.  If you find any items you no longer need/want as you do some spring cleaning, we look forward to your donations!  You can drop off your items in Ranger Hall Room 103 or find an AVID student and have them deliver it to this classroom.  The yard sale is scheduled for April 29th; all proceeds will go towards the AVID Senior Scholarship.  Thank you for your support!
9.       The judges have spoken!  The ART FINALISTS for the WRITING ON THE WALLS CONTEST are:  Jacob Jeffries, Christine Bianco, Romel Robinson, Alecia Campos, Melissa Marquez and Serena Sanchez.  Congratulations artists!  Want to know who wins?  Come to Poets On the Plaza, May 5th in front of Ranger Hall.

 1.  The HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM - "It's COOL TO GO TO SCHOOL" - is back!  Any student with PERFECT ATTENDANCE this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family.  There are two way to achieve PERFECT ATTENDANCE this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules."
