TODAY:

 1.  SCHOOL PICTURE DAY 1 TODAY in the Dance Room West.  Schedule to follow.
 2.  SENIORS:  ESSENCE will be on campus for the free SENIOR PORTRAITS on Wednesday August 16th.  You must take a photo with Essence to have your portrait in the Yearbook.  If you have not taken your portrait already or scheduled an appointment with Essence, plan to take your photo TODAY in the Dance Room.  Yearbook will not accept portraits from any alternative photographers.
 3.  GREEN CLUB MEETING at lunch TODAY in Mr. Eskridge's Room 33.  We will be discussing officer positions and our plans for the school year.
SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:
Girls Tennis vs. CVC 4:00 p.m./Early Release 2:45 p.m.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       STUDENTS:  ASB STICKERS can be purchased in the Finance Office for $30!  The sticker can save you money on Home Athletic Events and Dances!  Come and get an ASB Sticker!

2.       STUDENTS AND STAFF:  Please be advised we will NO LONGER UTILIZE THE 2 MINUTE WARNING BELL!  Please be mindful of the time and plan accordingly to get to class on time!

3.       IceBreaker Social/Pool Party is Friday August 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Gym and Pool!  There will be bounce houses, ping pong, swimming, DJ music, and tons of vendors with great food!  Bring some extra cash for Kona Shaved Ice, a taco truck and candy.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $2.00 with an ASB sticker, and $5 without a sticker.  Let's start the year off with a little fun!09171999

4.       IceBreaker Pool Party appropriate attire:  if you are planning on swimming in the pool at the IceBreaker Social, please bring appropriate swim wear.  Cotton material clothes are NOT allowed in the pool.  Swim trunks, bathing suits, and dry fit material clothing is best recommended.  PE clothes are accepted as dry fit material.  Don't forget a towel and a change of clothes!

5.       PTSA MEETING:  Don't miss our very first PTSA MEETING of the year on Monday August 21st at 5:30 p.m. in the Library!  Our guest speaker this month will be our very own principal, Matt Shin.  Our membership drive is in full swing.  If you haven't sent in your membership yet, it's not too late.  Simply take your membership form to the office, mail or bring it to the meeting.  Membership is only $10 per person.  PTSA provides positive opportunities throughout the year to interact with administration, staff and students.  It is often the first place to hear news regarding decisions and events that affect Redwood.

6.       STUDENTS: if you are in need of an ACADEMIC LOCKER, they will be available on Tuesday August 22nd and Wednesday August 23rd before school and during the lunch break behind the Administration Building.

7.       SKATEBOARD RACKS have been installed on the east side of the LJ Williams Theatre.  Please utilize the racks to store your boards during the day.  Students must provide their own combination locks.

8.       First FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE general MEETING of the year!  Thursday August 17th!  Lunch in Mr. Cazarez's Room 43.  Club information, member building, elections, club day and more!

9.       YEARBOOKS PRESALES have begun!!!  Through the end of August, YEARBOOKS are sold at a discounted price of $80.  Buy online at jostensyearbooks.com (starting 8/16) or on campus in the Finance Center or Room 40 from Mr. Feehan.  Also, through August, if you buy personalization ($5 to get your name engraved), up to four icons are free!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 1.  SCHOOL PICTURE DAY 2 August 17th in the Dance Room West.  Schedule to follow.
 2.  BOYS TENNIS:  There will be a short MEETING after school Thursday August 17th in Mr. Brown's Room 14A at Sierra Vista Campus.  Fall Practice schedule and volunteering for fundraiser to be discussed.
 3.  ICEBREAKER ASSEMBLY (Assembly Schedule) Friday August 18th.  Bell Schedule will be in bulletin on that date.
 4.  SCICON TRAINING for those students interested in being a SCICON COUNSELOR this school year on Tuesday August 22nd during 2nd period in the Upstairs Library.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.
 5.  If you are interested in auditioning for the FALL PLAY, "NEVERMORE" (the story of Edgar Allan Poe's last 5 days), Auditions will be August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. and August 23rd at 3:45 p.m.
 6.  CLUB FAIR DAY Wednesday August 23rd during lunchtime in the QUAD.
 7.  BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT Monday August 28th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
 8.  SCICON COUNSELORS:  If interested in being a SCICON Counselor come and sign up in the Counseling Office.  Redwood's first 2 weeks are August 28th and September 11th.

9.       CSF MEMBERSHIP DRIVE!  CSF membership for Spring 2017 grades will be held the week of August 29th through September 1st.  Bring the following to Room 108 during lunch:  *completed application form (pick up early in Room 108)  *official copy of Spring semester report card or a transcript (juniors and seniors) from the office requested 3-4 days prior to when needed  *a donation of one hardback book for the Redwood Library and  *$5 for dues to cover graduation materials.  Friday September 1st is the deadline to apply.  Freshmen are not eligible to apply for membership until January 2018 but may attend meetings and activities. The first CSF MEETING this year is Wednesday September 6th in the Band Room at lunch.  CSF Rangers Rock!!

 1.  ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIP STUDY ABROAD:  Information MEETING for parents and students interested in spending a year of their high school studying overseas.  Each year Rotary handles over 8,000 students in this opportunity of a lifetime.  September 3rd, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley College, 8344 W.  2.  CANCELLED:  UNIVERSITY OF DENVER representative will be on campus Tuesday September 5th during 1st period in the Upstairs Library.  Signups will be in the counseling office.
 3.  Redwood's ALL SCHOOL MUSICAL will be "SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL!"  Auditions will be late September!  See Mrs. Galvan for more info!  Room 15 Drama Room.
 4.  If you are interested in playing SOFTBALL for the Rangers in the Spring '18, we will be conditioning Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:40 - 5:00 p.m.  See coach Rooney in Room 56 if you need more info.
 5.  CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY will be on campus Wednesday September 13th during 1st period upstairs library.  There will be a sign-up sheet in the counseling office.
