TODAY:

1.       HOLIDAY GRAMS ARE BACK!!  LAST DAY TODAY you can send your friends a HOLIDAY GRAM from LINK CREW.  Find us in the QUAD at lunch to get yours personalized and ready to send.  They are 50 cents each so empty out the bottom of your backpacks.  It's worth the spare change!

2.       Seniors! The December deadline for Yearbook Senior Ads is TODAY.  After 12/8, prices will go up from $115 for ¼ page and $200 for ½ page to $140 for ¼, $220 for ½. The final chance to buy senior ads ends February 2nd.  See Mr. Feehan for details in room 40.

3.       CHOIR CONCERT will be held TODAY at 7:00 p.m. in the LJ Williams Theatre.

4.       2017 EECU Educational Grant Scholarship:  Amount:  $2,000.  Criteria:  You must be a member, joint member or joint owner of Educational Employees Credit Union a minimum of 6 months prior to application close date.  Account must be in good standing.  Application Deadline: TODAY.  Apply at:  http://www.myeecu.org/home/resources/mycommunity/student-grant-program.

5.       SOCK DRIVE has been EXTENDED!  CHRISTIANS IN ACTION CLUB will be running a SOCK DRIVE for the upcoming holidays.  They're also in partnership with the SNEAKER CLUB.  The SOCK DRIVE will be from TODAY thru December 13th.  This event will benefit families in need, The Rescue Mission, and Battered Women's Shelters.  Drop offs will be in Room 70, 72 and 73.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       CSF Senior members:  If you are interested in the CSF State Seymour or Sealbearer Scholarship Awards ($1,000 -$10,000) or the Redwood CSF Awards ($250 - $500), please stop by Room 108 to pick up a list of the qualifications which include 100% membership, a 4.0 GPA, and active participation in CSF Club meetings and community projects.  The required information is DUE DECEMBER 15, 2017! If you have any questions, please email gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org>.

2.       RHS GIRLS SOCCER KIDS NIGHT EVENT:  Tuesday December 12th at the Mineral King Bowl.  All students get in free with their school shirt or team jersey.  JV game is at 4:30 p.m.; Varsity game is at 6:00 p.m.

3.       STUDENTS:  the weather is colder ONLY BEANIES WILL BE ALLOWED during the cold winter months; please leave your hats at home!  Also, please adhere to the courtesy/politeness/respect of removing your headgear when indoors!  Because of security and safety - BLANKETS ARE NOT ALLOWED on campus, please leave blankets at home!

4.       FACULTY/STAFF:  During the cold winter months we ARE ALLOWING our students to wear ONLY BEANIES, they are to remove them when going indoors, i.e., classroom, building, etc.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       Come and get your REDWOOD SCARF for $20 to benefit REDWOOD BOYS SOCCER TEAM.  If interested, please stop by and see Mrs. Torres in the Counseling Office.

2.       SNEAKER HEAD CLUB is asking for gently used or new shoe donations, any size or gender or style, for people in need.  Drop off is in Room 72, from now until Christmas break!

3.       SATURDAY UNIVERSITY is up and running for December 9th - next one is January 20th.  If you are a senior, this recovers any previous absences.  Please check with the following teachers:  Henshaw (Room 75), Eastman (Woodshop), Laufer (Room 94), Cravins (Room 41), Cox (Auto Shop), or Oliveira (Room 71).  Saturday University is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

4.       CSF Club is sponsoring a Holiday Gift Card Drive to benefit needy RHS families. Our goal is to collect 40 certificates in order to help 20 families.  Gift certificates should be in the amount of $10, and can be from any store. Let's spread goodwill and joy to others! Bring $10 gift certificates to RH 108 by December 12th! 5.       ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:  All library books and novels are DUE ON DECEMBER 12th!  Students taking semester classes as Civics/Econ and Health you must return your textbooks as your teacher tells you to do so, or after your finals.  All overdue library materials will be marked as lost on December 15th and students will be billed.

6.       COOKIES AND CRAM!  Are you ready for finals?  They will be here in a blink of an eye.  LINK CREW is hosting the annual Cookies and Cram Tuesday December 12th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Academic Building.  We have French, Spanish, Biology, Chemistry and English teachers; Plus Math and History Tutors ready to help you with your last minute study.  ***List of subjects will be updated as we get closer.

7.       Students, faculty, staff, and friends of students, faculty, and staff! Are you a lover or expressor of art? Do you want to share or experience it after darkness falls? Red Ink presents Art After Dark, a true artistic experience. Come see students read their poetry, channel their inner singer, or show off their amazing talents. Have a talent of your own to share?   Sign up with Ms. Link in room 103. Open to everyone. Experience the art Redwood has to offer Thursday, December 14, from 6-9 pm in room 103, $2.00 admission, all proceeds go to benefit Red Ink spring events.

8.       WINTER BREAK will be from December 18th - January 5th.  School resumes on Monday January 8th!
