1.       SOCK DRIVE has been EXTENDED!  CHRISTIANS IN ACTION CLUB will be running a SOCK DRIVE for the upcoming holidays.  They're also in partnership with the SNEAKER CLUB.  The SOCK DRIVE will be from TODAY.  This event will benefit families in need, The Rescue Mission, and Battered Women's Shelters.  Drop offs will be in Room 70, 72 and 73.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica News: Congratulations to junior Ashley Vásquez and senior Suzanna Araujo, who are Redwood's representatives in two separate national SHH competitions.  Ashley is vying to be one of 24 students selected to travel to Ecuador on a 10-day educational tour next summer; Suzanna is vying for one of 60 national SHH scholarships, worth $1,000.00-$2,000.00.  Wish them luck!  Competition results will be sent to our school in mid-February.

2.       Redwood Baseball will be having their annual Toy Drive this Saturday December 16th from 9am-12pm.  All new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Varsity baseball field on Giddings Ave.  All toys collected will be donated to children who attend Redwood Feeder schools.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       Come and get your REDWOOD SCARF for $20 to benefit REDWOOD BOYS SOCCER TEAM.  If interested, please stop by and see Mrs. Torres in the Counseling Office.

2.       SNEAKER HEAD CLUB is asking for gently used or new shoe donations, any size or gender or style, for people in need.  Drop off is in Room 72, from now until Christmas break!

3.       WINTER BREAK will be from December 18th - January 5th.  School resumes on Monday January 8th!

4.       Attention softball parents and players:  The next SOFTBALL BOOSTER MEETING will be on Thursday January 11th at 6:15 p.m. in Coach Rooney's Room 56.  All parents and players are expected to attend.  We will be discussing upcoming season and tournaments.  See you all there!

5.       STUDENTS:  the weather is colder ONLY BEANIES WILL BE ALLOWED during the cold winter months; please leave your hats at home!  Also, please adhere to the courtesy/politeness/respect of removing your headgear when indoors!  Because of security and safety - BLANKETS ARE NOT ALLOWED on campus, please leave blankets at home!

6.       FACULTY/STAFF:  During the cold winter months we ARE ALLOWING our students to wear ONLY BEANIES, they are to remove them when going indoors, i.e., classroom, building, etc.
SENIORS:

1.       CSF Senior members:  If you are interested in the CSF State Seymour or Sealbearer Scholarship Awards ($1,000 -$10,000) or the Redwood CSF Awards ($250 - $500), please stop by Room 108 to pick up a list of the qualifications which include 100% membership, a 4.0 GPA, and active participation in CSF Club meetings and community projects. SCHOLARSHIPS:

1.       REDWOOD HIGH SCHOOL LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:  Amount:  Varies.  Criteria:  Varies.  Apply at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAlpQLSfiPbVdGtS_mmJKFihXS2teONOsu1BSo8axl1ASX_jmBAaU9w/viesform?c=0&w=1.  Deadline:  December 15th DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!  Application is now due on January 8, 2018!

2.       CSF Michelson Memorial Award:  Amount: $1,000.00  Criteria: 800-1000 word essay to prompt, must be a current active CSF Member and be a SENIOR this year   Application Process:  go to https://csf-cjsf.org/csf-awards/  Due Date:  December 22nd.
