BULLETIN
5/18/17

TODAY:
1.       DRAMA ONE ACTS TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. in the Rotary Theatre.
2.       BOYS SOCCER INFORMATION MEETING will take place TODAY during lunch in the Fitness Center.  Coach Johnson will discuss the 2017-2018 program, including summer practice schedule.

 1.  Due to AP Testing in the Library, XL will be opening the Cafeteria after school from 3:17 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for those who would like to study after school TODAY.  XL will also provide laptops and textbooks.
4.       ATTENTION:  Anyone interested in BOYS OR GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY meet at the track TODAY at 3:45 p.m.
5.       The "Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica" will be selecting new officers for 2017-2018 soon:  President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Media.  Please come by Room 2 at Sierra Vista to pick up an application from Sra. Jimenez.  Completed applications are dueTODAY.  Interviews will be held after school on Monday May 22nd at Sierra Vista.
SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

 1.  The South Valley Regional Champion REDWOOD COLORGUARD will have workshops May 22nd, 23rd and 24th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. for those interested in joining Colorguard performing and traveling with Ranger Band.
 2.  Planning on taking AP LANGUAGE & COMPOSITION (AP Junior English) next year?  Please join the classroom to access the summer reading assignment.  The Google Classroom Code is:  8abtoa.  Or...if you have questions, or want to pick up a hard copy of the assignment, come see Ms. Audino in Room 204 or Mrs. Moore in Ranger Hall Room 203.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1.       SATURDAY UNIVERSITY ACADEMY will be held this Saturday May 20th.  Please check with the following teachers if they will be in attendance this Saturday:  Rooney (metal - 56) Henshaw (video - 75) Laufer (Chemistry - 94) Wall (PE - Gym).  Saturday University is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  We start at 8:00 a.m. and will not let any students in after 8:15 a.m.  Please sign-up before Friday May 19th to secure your spot.  If you do not sign up in advance you run the risk of not being able to participate.

 1.  PTSA MEETINGS will be May 22nd in the Redwood Library at 5:30 p.m.
3.       SPRING BLOOD DRIVE will be Monday May 22nd from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the RHS Gym.  If you are at least 16 years old, please consider signing up for the blood drive and can pick up the permission slips in Room 207.

 1.  THE YEARBOOKS ARE COMING! Tuesday, May 23rd is the big day: Log Assembly and Log Night.  Get your yearbook outside of the office on Tuesday evening, hang out and sign with your friends, and reminisce about the year that's almost all behind us!  Haven't bought your yearbook yet?  Unless you plan on waiting in line at Log Night, buy by this Friday, May 19th online, from the Finance Office, or from Mr. Feehan in room 40/41.  $95 cash.  Buy earlier next year for lower prices on next year's yearbook!
5.       SPRING CHOIR SHOW will be on Friday May 26th in the LJ Williams Theatre at 7:00 p.m.
6.       MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY on Monday May 29th; NO SCHOOL.
7.       FINALS SCHEDULE for 9th, 10th, 11th GRADES:  Wednesday May 31st Periods 0,1,2; Thursday June 1st Periods 0,3,4; Friday June 2nd Periods 5,6.  LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS JUNE 2nd!

 1.  Redwood will be launching a Tardy Pilot Program to address students out of class.  The purpose of the Pilot Program is to promote academic success and deter students from being tardy to class or out of class without permission.  Students must have an appropriate pass to be out of class or late to class. Examples of an appropriate pass will include: teacher-provided Redwood pass and Redwood counseling, attendance, office, or nurse passes).  Any student without an appropriate pass will have their ID scanned and/or name taken down.  Consequences for being out of class without permission will be loss of off campus lunch privileges and/or an assigned detention. This Pilot Program will end on Friday, June 2nd.
9.       PSAT SPRING TEST SCORES AND BOOKLETS are in the Counseling Office to pick up. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Matta.

 1.  ACADEMIC LETTERS/LANTERNS:  If you missed our Academic Award Night, please stop by the Counseling Office to pick up your award.
 2.  The HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM - "It's COOL TO GO TO SCHOOL" - is back!  Any student with PERFECT ATTENDANCE this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family.  There are two way to achieve PERFECT ATTENDANCE this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules."
SENIORS:
1.       SENIORS:  REMINDER, in order to participate in graduation in June, YOU MUST HAVE A 94% attendance rate on graduation day.  There are only 1 Saturday School Date remaining this school year!  Plan to attend if you know you are in danger of falling below the 94% attendance rate.  Please continue to communicate with the Redwood attendance office to check your status.

 1.  ATTENTION ALL SENIORS attending GRAD NITE!  Buses will leave Redwood High School at 8:00 a.m. from the Student Parking Lot on Friday May 19th.  DO NOT BE LATE!!  The buses will not wait for you and you will not receive a refund if you are late.  NO FOOD OR DRINKS will be allowed onto the buses (including unopened bottle waters).  Students will be provided with water and snacks once they board their bus.  Please review the Disneyland's Grad Nite Dress Code guidelines and list of prohibited items given to you during the senior class meeting.  If you no longer have this information, please see Mr. Lor in the Main Office.
 2.  SENIOR BBQ will be on May 23rd!  Seniors can purchase a ticket for $10 from Mr. Schieferle in Room 37, Mr. Fuller in Room 36 or Mr. Miller in Room 207.  It will be an all you can eat BBQ dinner in the QUAD 1 hour before yearbooks are distributed on Log Night.
4.       CSF POTENTIAL LIFETIME SENIORS:  IF YOU NEED THIS SEMESTER IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO see Mrs. Cheatwood at 7:00 a.m. in Room 108 on June 2nd to attain verification of your status and to receive your lifetime certificate. 5.       SENIOR COLLEGE WALL:  Complete the Post High School Survey to provide your information for our Senior College Wall and inspire your fellow Rangers.  See Mrs. Jauregui if you have any questions.
6.       ATTENTION ALL SENIORS!  FINAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS:  You must sign up to have your final transcripts sent to a college!  Come into the Counseling Office and sign up on the Final College Transcript sign-up sheet.  You will need to provide the correct address.
7.       SENIORS FINALS SCHEDULE:  Tuesday May 30th Period 5,6; Wednesday May 31st Periods 0,1,2; Thursday June 1st Periods 0.3.4.
8.       2017 GRADUATION will be on Friday June 2nd, 7:30 p.m. in the Mineral King Bowl.
