TODAY:
1. JUNIORS: The PSAT will be held on Wednesday October 11th; cost is $15.00 per student. REGISTRATION BEGINS TODAY (before school, lunch, and after school) AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED. SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS. The Fall PSAT is designed for 11th Grade Students. 9th and 10th Grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT in Spring 2018. Students will pay the $15 in the Finance Center and pick up a study packet. There are a limited number of fee waivers available. See Mr. Matta regarding fee waiver guidelines.
2. A Fresno Pacific Representative will be on campus TODAY with sign ups in the Counseling Office.
3. CSF NEWS! Our FIRST MANDATORY MEETING will be TODAY! See you in the Band Room at lunch! Topics of discussion are community projects, new CSF t-shirt sales, and senior lifetime requirements to name just a few! Keep your membership active and don't miss out on activities! We welcome freshmen and look forward to seeing you there!
4. ATTENTION SOPHOMORE CLASS of 2020. We will be holding our FIRST MEEING TODAY in the ASB Room 31 to discuss upcoming events, fundraisers and Homecoming. If you can't meet with us and have any questions, see Mr. Blair in Room 16 at Sierra Vista.
5. SNEAKER HEAD CLUB MEETING TODAY in Room 72 at lunch. Snacks provided.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
1. CSF MEMBERSHIP! If you forgot to qualify for the Spring 2017 semester, see Mrs. Cheatwood in Room 108 ASAP this week! This is especially important for seniors! In addition, seniors need to know their lifetime status and plan accordingly! If you have questions, email them to gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> Freshmen will qualify in January but are welcome to attend meetings and activities.
2. Coming Soon! The ANNUAL IMPROV SHOW in Rotary Theater on September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. Come see RHS students working with students from the other high schools in order to bring you a night of laughs! Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the Drama Room from Mrs. Galvan. Tickets will be $8 at the door!
3. FBLA MEETING Thursday September 7th at lunch in Room 74. Come enjoy some pizza and learn more about all FBLA has to offer and sign up for our conference. #JoinTheTradition #AllRangersWelcome
4. HEY GREEN THUMBS! If you care about your Earth join us for the FIRST OFFICIAL MEETING for GREEN CLUB on Thursday September 7th at lunch in Room 33. Hope to see you there!
5. STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY on Monday September 11th. Students released at 1:53 p.m.
6. Hey Redwood, YAF, Young American for Freedom, is MEETING September 7th in Room 103 at lunch to discuss the 9/11 project. If you'd like to help us remember 9/11 please come on by. Come check out YAF, your club for young conservatives. All are welcome!
7. FRENCH CLUB MEETING Friday September 8th at lunch in Room 47.
8. BOYS BASKETBALL MEETING on Friday September 8th in Mr. Lyons Room 91 at lunch. We will discuss upcoming strength and conditioning program. This is for all non-fall athletes who are interested in playing basketball.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Attention to anyone interested in having a civil discussion about current events in our society and in politics, come the YOUNG LIBERALS CLUB MEETING on September 7th during lunch in Room 205. Come for the snacks and stay for the discussion!
2. STUDENTS: do you have a passion for medicine and science? Take the first step to becoming a doctor by applying to the Pro-MED Mentoring Program! In the Pro-MED Mentorship program, students will learn the inner workings of the Kaweah Delta Family Medicine Clinic, attend medical conferences, and have a personal Resident Physician Mentor! Additionally, Pro-MED Club is opened to ALL students who are interested in becoming a doctor. The Pro-MED Club will feature guest speakers, a trip to a California medical school, and information about how to become a physician. An INFORMATIONAL MEETING will be held on September 7th at 3:30 p.m. in the upstairs Library. For any additional questions, please ask XL staff about the program in the upstairs Library.
3. A special event is coming to Visalia! Brought to you by the Visalia Parks & Recreation Department is the 14th Annual VISALIA TEEN IDOL COMPETITION being held at the Redwood High School LJ WilliamsTheater. This event will be held on Saturday September 9th at 6:00 p.m.! Come out and support the Visalia youth, you do not want to miss this event! Pre-Sale tickets can now be purchased at the Anthony Community Center for only $7!! For more information call 713-4069.
4. We are hosting again this year a MINI COLLEGE FAIR on Tuesday September 12th during 6th Period in the Cafeteria. Those students interested in attending, please sign up in the Counseling Office.
1. CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY will be on campus Wednesday September 13th during 1st period upstairs library. There will be a sign-up sheet in the counseling office.
6. A UCLA representative will be on campus Thursday September 14th during 3rd period in the upstairs library. Sign up in the Counseling Office.
7. HELLO RANGERS, please make sure to turn in your LUNCH APPLICATIONS before September 21st as this is the day that all applications from last year will expire and all students that haven't turned in one will go to a paid status.
8. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!! Please have your ID CARDS with you at all times!!! The scanning of ID CARDS to leave campus for lunch and for those without a 6th Period Class has started. You will not be able to leave campus without an ID CARD. ***NO EXCEPTIONS***
9. STUDENTS: ASB STICKERS can be purchased in the Finance Office for $30! The sticker can save you money on Home Athletic Events and Dances! Come and get an ASB Sticker!
10. STUDENTS AND STAFF: Please be advised we will NO LONGER UTILIZE THE 2 MINUTE WARNING BELL! Please be mindful of the time and plan accordingly to get to class on time!
11. SKATEBOARD RACKS have been installed on the east side of the LJ Williams Theatre. Please utilize the racks to store your boards during the day. Students must provide their own combination locks.
