TODAY:

1.       JUNIORS:  The PSAT will be held on Wednesday October 11th; cost is $15.00 per student.  REGISTRATION BEGINS TODAY (before school, lunch, and after school) AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED.  SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS.  The Fall PSAT is designed for 11th Grade Students.  9th and 10th Grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT in Spring 2018.  Students will pay the $15 in the Finance Center and pick up a study packet.  There are a limited number of fee waivers available.  See Mr. Matta regarding fee waiver guidelines.

2.       FRENCH CLUB MEETING TODAY at lunch in Room 47.

3.       BOYS BASKETBALL MEETING TODAY in Mr. Lyons Room 91 at lunch.  We will discuss upcoming strength and conditioning program.

4.       CSF MEMBERSHIP!  If you forgot to qualify for the Spring 2017 semester, see Mrs. Cheatwood in Room 108 ASAP this week!  This is especially important for seniors!  In addition, seniors need to know their lifetime status and plan accordingly!  If you have questions, email them to gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> Freshmen will qualify in January but are welcome to attend meetings and activities.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       ATTENTION BAND STUDENTS & FAMILIES:  Don't forget we will be distributing uniforms on Saturday September 9th in the Band Room.  If you child cannot make this date or time, please contact the uniform coordinator, Isabel Beltran, to make different arrangements at ibeltran at vusd.org<mailto:ibeltran at vusd.org>.  Students should plan come with shorts and t-shirt (thin layered clothes).  All students will try on the uniform for appropriate fit.  Scheduled times for RETURNING students:  12th grade (8:00 a.m.), 11th grade (9:00 a.m.), 10th grade (10:00 a.m.).  For New-to-Band students:  10th-12th Grade (11:00 a.m.) and for Freshman by last names (A-L @ 11:30 a.m.) and (M-Z @ 12:30 p.m.).

2.       CHRISTIANS IN ACTION (C.I.A.) CLUB MEETING will be on September 11TH during lunch in Room 70.

3.       A MARINE Representative will be on campus Wednesday September 13th during lunch with a "Pull Up Challenge Bar".

4.       INTERACT:  There will be a MEETING on Tuesday September 12th at lunch in Room 101 to discuss Homecoming.  See you there!

5.       BSU MEETING will be on Wednesday September 13th at lunch in Room 101.  Hope to see you there!

6.       We are hosting again this year a MINI COLLEGE FAIR on Tuesday September 12th during 6th Period in the Cafeteria.  Those students interested in attending, please sign up in the Counseling Office.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       A special event is coming to Visalia!  Brought to you by the Visalia Parks & Recreation Department is the 14th Annual VISALIA TEEN IDOL COMPETITION being held at the Redwood High School LJ WilliamsTheater.  This event will be held on Saturday September 9th at 6:00 p.m.!  Come out and support the Visalia youth, you do not want to miss this event!  Pre-Sale tickets can now be purchased at the Anthony Community Center for only $7!!  For more information call 713-4069.

2.       STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY on Monday September 11th.  Students released at 1:53 p.m.

3.       PAWS 4 a CAUSE MEMBER MEETING Tuesday September 12th in Room 94 during lunch.  A notice will be posted on Remind if location changes.

4.       COSTA RICA TRIP!  If you're interested in earning 3 college units while attending an educational tour of Costa Rica, come see Mrs. Yates in Room P3 on Sierra Vista campus.  There will be a parent info MEETING Tuesday September 12th at 6:00 p.m.

 1.  CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY will be on campus Wednesday September 13th during 1st period upstairs library.  There will be a sign-up sheet in the counseling office.

6.       Greeting Rangers, your true, blue, just for you one and only COLORING CLUB is reconvening for the year on Thursday September 14th in Room 103 at lunch.  We'll elect some officers, talk about Homecoming and do a little coloring (of course).  If you like to color or just need to relax come join us.  We don't care if you color in the lines as long as you have a good time.

7.       A UCLA representative will be on campus Thursday September 14th during 3rd period in the upstairs library.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

8.       HELLO RANGERS, please make sure to turn in your LUNCH APPLICATIONS before September 21st as this is the day that all applications from last year will expire and all students that haven't turned in one will go to a paid status.

9.       Coming Soon!  The ANNUAL IMPROV SHOW in Rotary Theater on September 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  Come see RHS students working with students from the other high schools in order to bring you a night of laughs!  Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the Drama Room from Mrs. Galvan.  Tickets will be $8 at the door!

10.   Calling all of you engineers, mechanical and civil and automotive, this club is the one for you.  The only ROBOTICS CLUB in the district is open to all breathing bodies that have a core temperature above 32 degrees Celsius.  When?  Tuesday and Wednesday after school in our cafeteria 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.  The only criteria to join?  Being hungry.  Now, honestly, how hard is that for someone of your BMR?

11.   ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!!  Please have your ID CARDS with you at all times!!!  The scanning of ID CARDS to leave campus for lunch and for those without a 6th Period Class has started.  You will not be able to leave campus without an ID CARD.  ***NO EXCEPTIONS***

12.   STUDENTS:  ASB STICKERS can be purchased in the Finance Office for $30!  The sticker can save you money on Home Athletic Events and Dances!  Come and get an ASB Sticker!

13.   STUDENTS AND STAFF:  Please be advised we will NO LONGER UTILIZE THE 2 MINUTE WARNING BELL!  Please be mindful of the time and plan accordingly to get to class on time!

14.   SKATEBOARD RACKS have been installed on the east side of the LJ Williams Theatre.  Please utilize the racks to store your boards during the day.  Students must provide their own combination locks.
