1. Oh, my, gosh! It's here! Poets on the Plaza, the once a year don't miss exciting event in honor of National Poetry Month! TODAY in front of Ranger Hall from 5-7 pm student writers who are finalists in the Writing On The Walls contest will be honored, the amazing and incredibly unique Fresno Poet Laureate S. Bryan Medina is performing, it only happens once a year, come join us! Poets On The Plaza, Friday, 5-7, in front of Ranger Hall, $2.00 for students, $3.00 for general, come support your creative writers.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
1. SCICON SIGN UPS for the week of April 23rd are in the Counseling Office! There are a few spots for boys!
2. Pro-MED is meeting on Monday, April 16th at 3:30pm in room 94. We will be conducting a fetal pig dissection! Come join us if you are interested in learning about the piglet anatomy. All supplies will be provided. See you there!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. SEED - Students Empowered by Exposure to Diversity - ProYouth XL would like to extend an invitation to all students interested in the film industry to join us at Redwood High School Cafeteria on Monday April 16th at 4:30 pm. Our presentation is "COCO." It is a night of film and art - Visalia's Catrina will talk to the students about "Day of the Dead ofrendas and alters." This event is free of charge. Food and soft drink beverages provided by SEED.
2. GRIZZLY ACADEMY (through Campus Life) will give a program presentation on Tuesday April 17th in the upstairs library at 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.! Credit Recovery and Military training; contact Henry Serrato from Campus Life or just show up!!
3. MANDATORY CSF MEETING FOR LIFETIME SENIORS: CSF Lifetime seniors MUST ATTEND A MEETING in Room 108 at lunch on Tuesday April 17th to prepare and rehearse for the luncheon at the Visalia Convention Center on April 24th. Be sure to bring the signed district parent approval form and to have your introduction memorized. We will go over important details and rehearse as a group due to the fact that we will be the first on stage. In addition, April 17th is the last day to purchase tickets online at COS.edu/Foundation, by mailing a check to COS foundation (915 S. Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA. 93277), or by calling 730-3861 and using a credit card. REMEMBER - NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. 4. The Math part of the CAASPP Test for all Juniors will be administered from Tuesday, April 17th through Friday, April 20th. Juniors will take the state test in their Junior English class. The following is the schoolwide block schedule for all Redwood students during the four testing days.

5. DANCE RECITAL will be on April 19th and April 20th in the LJ Williams Theatre at 7:00 p.m. Saturday April 21st -DANCE RECITAL in the LJ Williams Theatre Matinee @ 5:00 p.m.
6. Applications of LINK CREW 2018-2019 are available. If you are interested in being a part of our annual Freshman Orientation, Freshman Tailgate, Haunted House, AND mainly Getting to know and welcome new students to the Redwood Campus we would love for you to join our team of Link Leaders. Applications can be found in the main counseling office and with Mrs. Wall in PE. All apps are due on April 19th so don't wait to pick yours up time will fly by.
7. BATTLE OF THE CLASSES ASSEMBLY will be on Friday April 27th.
8. Friday Fun Fair ~~~~ Link Crew is putting on a fair for you Redwood (All ages welcome)!!! Friday April 27th from 3:30-5:30 come to the Turf and Gym to party with us. We will have Food, Games, Music, and Blowup obstacle course for your enjoyment. Wrist bands and Tickets will be sold at the event to partake in the various activities. If you would like to come out and enjoy the festivities we would love to see you.
1. ATTENTION current sophomores and juniors! The XL Program is now accepting applications to become a student tutor for the 2018-2019 school year! You must be 16 by the 1st day of the next school year and have a minimum GPA of a 3.0. To pick-up an application for this PAID tutoring job please visit the XL Office in the upstairs library. Applications are due May 1, 2018.
10. PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Athletic Physical Clinic will be on May 9th and parent volunteers are needed. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers. The physical clinic is held in the gym from 11:30am-2:30pm on Wed May 9. 11. CSF SPONSORED SCHOOL-WIDE DRIVE: CSF Club is collecting toiletries for the Freedom House which provides help to victims of human trafficking. Bring new travel sized shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and hand sanitizers to Ranger Hall Room 108 by May 11th. 12. Mark your calendars Rangers! VUSD Prom 2018 Una Bella Notte a Venezia "A beautiful night in Venice" is on Saturday May 12th at the Visalia Convention Center. 8-11pm. Early Photography times will be from 4-7pm, and reopen from 8-10pm. Single person tickets will be sold in the Finance Center the week of Prom. Ticket prices are: $25 w/ ASB sticker, $35 w/o ASB sticker, $45 at the door.
13. Dress Code: Please leave all hats and beanies at home, it is much nicer weather, much warmer weather.

2. GRADUATION SPEECH: Senior Graduation Speech Auditions will take place during the week of April 30th -May 1st. If you are a senior interested in writing and giving the graduation speech, please sign-up in the Counseling Office by Wednesday, April 25th. Once you sign-up, you will be sent specific information regarding the date and time of your audition. Please see Mrs. Barba-Tepper if you have any questions.
3. UC ANALYTICAL WRITING PLACEMENT EXAMINATION: The University of California will administer the Analytical Writing Placement Examination (AWPE) on Saturday May 12th to students who have been admitted to a UC for Fall 2018 and have not satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement by other means. 1. Sequoia Chapter/Triple X Fraternity Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 Criteria: Armenian descent, pursuing college education.

5. Redwood Dance Scholarship
Must be a 4 year Dance Force Member, plus one of the following: declared dance major, dance minor, college or university dance team member or contracted with a professional talent agency (specializing in dance). Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship and what their focus will be in college (minor, major, dance team or professional talent agency).

6. RHS DREAM Dance Performing Arts Scholarship
Criteria to apply is the following: Dance Major (BA or BFA)Attending a 4 year University
3.0 GPA or higher Proof of Major & Full Time Enrollment
Must provide proof of the above when applying for the scholarship & in order to receive the scholarship funds. Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship, detailed description of their dance experience and explanation of their future goals in the art of dance.
