TODAY:

1.       Welcome back Rangers! There will be a REDWOOD DRAMA BOOSTER PARENT MEETING at 6 pm TODAY. We meet in the Drama Room at Sierra Vista.  Upcoming fall play and spring musical will be discussed. If you have a student that is interested in participating in the drama program, a parent should attend this meeting. For more info, contact Mrs. Galvan at sgalvan at vusd.org<mailto:sgalvan at vusd.org>.

2.       INTERACT CLUB-If you are interested in being an officer (for this school year) please come to an interview, at lunch, TODAY in room 101. All positions are available! Hope to see you there!
SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:
Water Polo @ Monache 4:30 p.m./Early Release - Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls 3:00 p.m.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       SENIOR MEETING in the Gym on Tuesday August 21st at 10:00 a.m.  Please send any Senior students in your 2nd period class to the Gym at 9:55 a.m. that morning.

2.       JUNIORS AND SENIORS!  SCICON sign-ups are happening NOW!  Please come to the Counseling Office to start the process.  The first Scicon week is August 27 - 31st!

3.       FUTURE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, are you interested in a physician mentoring program?  Kaweah Delta is hosting a yearlong mentorship program that provides physicians to help guide your path to becoming a doctor.  This program is formally known as the "Pro-MED Mentorship Program."  To participate in this program, you must submit an application to Kaweah Delta.  Previous Mentorship students, you will have to reapply if you wish to continue to be part of the program.  Applications are due on September 10th!  For more information or to pick up an application, please stop by the Pro-MED Specialist's office located in the upstairs library.

4.       Welcome back to school Redwood Rangers!  Hopefully you all had a chance to relax and recharge during your summer break.  As a friendly reminder, REDWOOD XL offers free snack after-school, in the cafeteria from 3:17 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.  Snack is also served in the library from 3:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., just ask an XL Staff Member in the upstairs library.  So, if you find yourself hungry after-school, make sure you stop by to grab a snack...We are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       All Rangers interested in being in DRAMA CLUB, or participating in the FALL PLAY should attend a MEETING on August 21 at lunch in the drama room, 15 on Sierra Vista. Bring your lunch with you. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Galvan.

2.       SENIOR YEARBOOK PICTURES August 22nd - Dance Room East.

3.       SCHOOL PICTURE DAY 1 August 22nd - Dance Room West.

4.       CLUB FAIR DAY August 22nd during lunch in the Quad.

5.       SCHOOL PICTURE DAY 2 August 23rd - Dance Room West.

6.       POINT OF VIEW KICK-OFF ASSEMBLY August 27th in the A.M.

7.       BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT August 27th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

8.       FALL PLAY AUDITIONS will be August 28 at 6 pm OR August 29 at 4 pm in the Drama room.  Audition material will be available starting at a PRE AUDITION MEETING AUGUST 21 at lunch in the drama room. 15 Sierra Vista. The show is It's A Wonderful Life, Radio Play version. Need more info? 9.       CSF NEWS!  *The membership drive for Spring 2018 is September 10-14!  Come by room 108 to pick up info and an application.  Be sure to request a transcript from the office now! Don't wait until it is too late! *Join the REMIND for the new year to get notifications!  Text @rangercsf to 81010 *The first general meeting will be September 26 in the gym during lunch.  This meeting is mandatory for all current members!   *Welcome freshmen!  You are invited to all of our meetings and activities.

10.   CSF MEMBERSHIP FOR SPRING 2018 WILL BE SEPTEMBER 10-14 in room 108 at lunch.  Bring the following:  1) Completed application form (pick up early)  2) Official copy of Spring 2018 semester report card or a transcript from the office. Power School printouts may not be used.   Students should request a transcript from the office at least a week in advance.  Junior & Seniors must have a transcript.  3) A donation* one one like-new hardback book for the Redwood Library 4)Five dollars to go towards covering CSF graduation supplies (pin, shawl, certificate, & seal) Freshman do not need to apply until January, 2019.  FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 14th is the deadline.  See Mrs. Cheatwood in room 108 or email gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> if you have any concerns or questions.
