TODAY:

1.       All Redwood band students, parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend a meet and greet with the next band director at Redwood High School TODAY in the Cafeteria from 6pm to 7pm.  Redwood's next band director, Mr. Jordan Ray will be there to discuss his background & experiences, the upcoming summer band schedule, and other important information about his vision for the band program at Redwood High School.  Please come and help us welcome Mr. Ray to Redwood High School.

2.       Pro-MED Mentorship Students, the last meeting of the semester is TODAY! We will meet at the library and walk to KDHD at 3:40pm. If you cannot attend the meeting, you must email me. See you all there!
SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       AP Chemistry 2018-2019: There will be a MANDATORY MEETING for students enrolled in AP Chemistry for the 2018-2019 school year on Tuesday, May 22 at lunch in room 95. The summer assignment will be given out and other course expectations will be discussed.

2.       ATTENTION FRESHMEN: If you are taking ENGLISH 2 HONORS next year, please come to an information meeting on Tuesday May 22nd during lunch in room 30 in the Academic Building.  We will be discussing the summer assignment so make sure you attend! There will be two meetings broken up by last name: A-M 12:35-12:45; N-Z 12:50-1:00.  If you cannot attend, please see either Ms. Saputo (room 208) or Mrs. Feehan (room 202) for more information.

3.       VHSPAS Awards will be on May 20th 7:00 p.m. at the LJ Williams Theater.

4.       TRACK AND FIELD UNIFORMS need to be turned into Coach Sprague ASAP!!! A bill for 150.00 will be issued if not turned in.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       SPRING SPORTS RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY Thursday May 17th.

2.       LOG ASSEMBLY will be on Monday May 21st, regular assembly schedule.

3.       BOYS BASKETBALL:  practice for JV and Varsity will be starting May 21st from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. every day.  We are preparing for our summer schedule.  Weightlifting from 5:00 - 5:45 p.m.

4.       COS Dual Enrollment English 1 update:  Attention Juniors-due to COS criteria, Redwood will be offering 25 spots for the COS English 1 class next fall. We will be conducting a lottery drawing in the Redwood cafeteria on Monday, May 21 at 8am to determine which students will be placed in this English 1 class. Interested Juniors must be present in the Redwood cafeteria at 8am to enter into the lottery and must have already submitted COS placement test scores to Mrs. Barba-Tepper. Juniors can choose to take English 1 at COS this Summer or in the Fall if they rather not go through the lottery.  Students who placed directly into English 251 do NOT need to attend the lottery.

5.       STUDENT RECOGNITION BBQ will be on May 22nd.

6.       INFORMATIONAL DRAMA MEETING about next year's fall play and musical will be May 22 at lunch in the drama room.

7.       "Those interested in joining the GIRLS WRESTLING TEAM for the 2018-2019 school year, there will be a meeting at lunch in Rm 39 of the Academic Building on Thursday May 24th. We will be discussing, physicals, clearance, and summer workouts."

8.       "Attention Juniors and Seniors: if you plan on taking AP Biology next year, there will be an informational meeting on Thursday May 24 after school in room 89. Information being discussed will be Course Details and Requirements, Summer Assignment, and the Course Syllabus. If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Ms. Langlie (Rm. 89) or Mr. Woodbury (Rm. 90) after May 24th for information."

9.       MANDATORY APUSH MEETING.  All students planning to take APUSH next year need to attend the informational meeting.  Meetings will be broken up by names. Last names: A-M on Wednesday the 23rd...N-Z on Thursday the 24th.  Both meetings will be in Mr. Vieira's room 30 in the Academic Building during lunch.

10.   SPRING CHOIR SHOW will be on May 25th at the LJ Williams Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

11.   BAND CONCERT will be on May 26th at the LJ Williams Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

12.   SENIOR BREAKFAST will be on May 29th at 7:00 a.m. at the Cafeteria.

13.   GRADUATION PRACTICE will be on May 29th at 8:00 a.m. in the RHS Gym

14.   REDWOOD GRADUATION will be on May 29th at 7:30 p.m. at the Mineral King Bowl.
SENIORS:

1.       GRAD NITE at Magic Mountain will be on Thursday May 17th, students need to be at Redwood at the Conyer/Mineral King student parking lot at 6:30 p.m. SHARP!  Busses leave at 7:00 p.m. SHARP!  Students' return to Visalia on Friday May 18th at approximately 7:00 a.m.

2.       "Senior BBQ tickets are on sale for $10.  Bring a chair or blanket to the quad on Log Night.  Food will be served to Seniors who have bought tickets around 4:15-4:30 before yearbooks are distributed.  Tickets are available for purchase from Mr. Schieferle (Room 37), Mr. Fuller (Room 36) or Mr. Miller (Room 207).  Tickets need to be purchased by Friday, May 18th."
