TODAY:

1.       CSF's next MANDATORY MEETING is TODAY at lunch in the gym!  Please mark this important date on your calendar! Also, pick up your pre-paid t-shirt in room 108 and wear it to the club meeting.  See you there!

2.       The ACADEMY OF LAW AND JUSTICE has just begun the first ever Academy of Law and Justice Club. AOLJ students are encouraged to attend, but the club is open to any RHS student. We will be having our FIRST MEETING TODAY during lunch in Room 30 in the Academic Building. PIZZA will be provided!!! We will be electing officers, planning activities and talking about ways we can spice up the AOLJ on campus.

3.       The ASVAB TEST will be TODAY at 8:00 a.m. in the upstairs library.  You must be 10th, 11th or 12th grade to take the test.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

4.       Comcast Leaders and Achievers(r) Scholarship Program

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       Come and get your REDWOOD SCARF for $20 (CASH ONLY!) to benefit REDWOOD BOYS SOCCER TEAM.  If interested, please stop by and see Mrs. Torres in the Counseling Office.

2.       ATTENTION BAND AND ORCHESTRA STUDENTS:  pictures will be taken on November 16th during class.

3.       Hello Rangers! CHRISTIANS IN ACTION (CIA) are hosting a CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX PROJECT called Operation Christmas Child. You will have the chance to help children in need around the world. If you would like to be a part of this, please contact Mr. Tadeo at atadeo at vusd.us<mailto:atadeo at vusd.us> or pick up your Pack A Shoe Box form in Mr. Orosco's classroom in room 39. Deadline and drop off will be November 19th in Room 39.

4.       How's a Steak dinner sound or BBQ Chicken? What about ribs? Well FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE is selling dinner tickets for those amazing options for November 15th! One, 20 dollar, ticket gets you one meal option with three sides from Tahoe Joe's! See any Feminist Perspective member or Mr. Cazarez in room 45 to buy a ticket today! Cash only.

5.        FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE meets Wednesday November 7th in Mr. Cazarez's room 45 at lunch, We'll be getting ready to sell dinner tickets, work on an club community activity, and general business!

6.        COMPUTER & ESPORTS CLUB meets Friday November 9th to finalize Fundraiser ideas, lunch Room 45!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       Good Eats for a Good Cause!  Eat at Chili's Restaurant Visalia on Veteran's Day November 12th- 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Mention the RHS MOCK TRIAL give back event when ordering and we will receive 15% of the ticket price.  Happy eating!

2.       REDWOOD STUDENTS AND PARENTS:  A Concurrent/Dual Enrollment Student/Parent Meeting will take place on Tuesday November 13th in the Redwood Library starting at 12:45 p.m.  Dr. Jamon Peariso, Director of College and Career Readiness, will be available along with Mrs. Barba-Tepper to answer any questions regarding the new Transcript GPA and new Ranki8ng System.

3.       IT'S OUR TURN TO SUPPORT THE BAND:  Take a break from cooking dinner and support Redwood Ranger Band & Color Guard.  Go to Blaze Pizza on November 13 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and mention the Redwood Band & Color Guard and they will receive 20% of your order.  It is that easy and who doesn't love pizza?
SENIORS:

1.       SENIORS:  The CSF Michelson Award , is open to all CSF members who are currently seniors. MEMBERS HAVE UNTIL DECEMBER 22ND TO SUBMIT ESSAYS in response to the prompt published on the CSF website. One award of $1,000 will be given. SCHOLARSHIPS:

1.       *Elk's National Foundation Most Valuable Student  Amount:  $1,000-$12,500 per year
Criteria:  Must be a U.S. citizen and have a financial need; open to high school seniors who exhibit leadership qualities Application Process: Apply at www.elks.org<http://www.elks.org/ENF/scholars/mvs.cfm>
Deadline:  November 15

2.       THE BURGER KING SCHOLARS program is offering scholarships up to $50,000. Criteria: high school senior with a cumulative 2.5gpa or above, and must be active in their community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations. 3.       *College of the Sequoias Scholarship Application

4.       *CIF/Farmers Scholar-Athlete

5.       *Tulare County Farm Bureau-

Amount: Varies ($500-$2000) Criteria: Must attend high school or have graduated from a high school in Tulare County, must complete and return application (paper or online), must submit two letters of recommendation, must submit a copy of current school transcript.
