TODAY:

1.       *Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship
Criteria:  Student Athletes: high school seniors can nominate themselves for this prestigious honor by using the online form to give our judges a sense of who they are as athletes, scholars  and citizens.  Application Process:  www.wendysheisman.com<http://www.wendysheisman.com/>  Deadline: TODAY

2.       Redwood vs. Mt.Whitney VOLLEYBALL GAME TODAY:  we want to pack the gym so we are giving away a free slice of hot pizza at the door for the first 100 students!

3.       FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE MEETING TODAY in Room 45. We'll be talking about Cowhide Carnival games, Cowhide decorating, ordering shirts, and Fundraising ideas!!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       The ASVAB TEST will be on Wednesday November 7th in the upstairs library.  You must be either 11th or 12th grade to take the test.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

2.       Come by Room 42 TODAY during lunch and pick up your Trick-or-Treat 4 UNICEF Boxes!  We will be raising money to donate all month long!  What a treat!

3.       The dogs are coming!  Therapy dogs from Paws-4-Healing are making a visit on Thursday October 18th during your lunch in Room 80!  Pro-MED is proud to host the event to help you destress.  To learn more about Pro-MED, stop by our club meetings.  Next Pro-MED CLUB MEETING is Monday October 22nd at 3:30 p.m. in Room 94!  See you there!

4.       COWHIDE WEEK Monday October 22nd - Friday October 26th DRESS UP DAYS:  10/22 - Sleep on Us! - Pajama Day; 10/23 - Sportiest of them all! - Sports Day; 10/24 - This game "Memes" a lot! - Meme Day; 10/25 - Take 'em on with the Squad! - Squad Day; 10/26 - COWHIDE SPIRIT DAY!
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       COS Application Workshop for STUDENTS on Thursday October 18th in the Upstairs Library/Downstairs Library periods 1,2,3,5, and 6.  See your counselor to sign up!

2.       STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY will be on Monday October 22nd.  Students release at 1:53 p.m.

3.       FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY will be on campus Tuesday October 23rd during 1st period in the upstairs library.  Sign-ups in the Counseling Office.

4.       HOTDOG!!  It's back!!  The annual COWHIDE HOTDOG EATING CONTEST is happening Monday October 22nd at Taylor's Hot Dogs, 206 N. Encina St. Visalia.  The evening will begin with band and cheer performances at 6:00 p.m.  The contest begins at 6:30 p.m.!  Come cheer on our team against the school down the street!  Entry is FREE.  Taylor's will be open after the contest to sell regular priced hot dogs.  Bring some cash for dinner!

5.       Are you ready for Cowhide? RHS Football Boosters is selling RESERVED SEATING for $20.  Email rangerfootballboosters at gmail.com<mailto:rangerfootballboosters at gmail.com> to get yours or text/ call 972-6076 to for more information.  Deadline is Tuesday Oct 22.

6.       CHOIR BOOSTERS MEETING will be on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:00p.m. in the choir room.

7.       COS FAFSA WORKSHOP will be held on Tuesday October 23rd in the Redwood Library for Seniors and Senior Parents.  Specific times are assigned by the student's last name:  5:00 p.m. 9A-G); 5:45 p.m. (H-R); 6:30 p.m. (S-Z).

8.       Hear ye, hear ye, all creative writers! The deadline for the MONTHLY WRITING CONTEST has been extended to Wednesday October 24th. This will be the last day to submit your entries. The winner will receive a free one-hour massage and their work published in the Gigantea. Let's get writing!

9.       COWHIDE ASSEMBLY will be on Friday October 26th.  Regular assembly schedule.

10.   COWHIDE FOOTBALL GAME vs Mt. Whitney will be on Friday October 26th!

11.   University of San Francisco will be on campus October 29th during 1st period in the upstairs library.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

12.   Mount Saint Mary's University will be on campus Wednesday October 31st during 5th period in the upstairs library.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

13.   It's a Wonderful Like, The Radio Play, is coming to Redwood! The WRHS Players present our FALL PLAY November 1st, 2nd, 3rd at 7:00 pm and November 3rd at 2:00 pm. $8 General Admission. Rotary Theater.  A Deep Pit Dinner will be sold for the November 3rd shows only, $10.  Tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Galvan in the drama room, or online at RedwoodRangersDrama.ludus.com.

Amount:  $1,000-$25, 000 scholarships  Criteria:  Students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society

*Elk's National Foundation Most Valuable Student  Amount:  $1,000-$12,500 per year

*College of the Sequoias Scholarship Application

*CIF/Farmers Scholar-Athlete

*Tulare County Farm Bureau-
