TODAY:

1.       Juniors: The PSAT will be held on Wednesday October 24th; cost is $16.00 per student.  REGISTRATION IS TODAY AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED.  SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS. Students can pay $16 in the Finance Center (Before School, After school and at lunch).  Cash or Card only.  No checks.  Students may also pay online through the Ranger Web Store.  https://www.vusd.org/redwood  There is a small convenience fee.  The Fall PSAT is designed for 11th grade students only.  9th and 10th grade students will have the opportunity to take the PSAT in Spring 2019. There are a limited number of fee waivers available.  See Mr. Matta regarding fee waiver guidelines.

2.       MANDATORY GIRLS SOCCER MEETING TODAY at lunch in Coach Vieira's room 30.  We will be discussing conditioning dates and provide try-out information for the 2018-2019 season.

3.       CHOIR BOOSTER MEETING TODAY at 5:00 p.m. in the Choir Room.    Don't forget to buy your Stardust Fundraiser tickets too!  Donations for Stardust auction baskets are being collected in all Choir classes; don't forget to have your student donate with an item or cash donation.  Men's Choir- GAME NIGHT, Beginning Women's-GIFT CARDS, Intermediate Women's -FALL THEME, Ranger Boys- GUYS NIGHT OUT, Ranger Girls- GIRLS NIGHT OUt, and Chamber- DATE NIght.    Thank you in advance for your generous support of Redwood Choir Program. Donations can be dropped off in the choir room.

 1.  CAL GRANT OPT-OUT:  With the implementation of Assembly Bill 2160, California public high schools are required to submit a Cal Grant high school Grade Point Average (GPA) for all graduating seniors, unless the student or parent has opted out of the submission process.  If you do not want Redwood High School to report a GPA, please have your student pick up the opt-out form from their counselor or the Redwood Counseling Office.  Opt-out forms must be returned by TODAY.
 2.  M.E.Ch.A. MEETING TODAY during lunch in the upstairs library.  New members welcome!

6.       INTRAMURAL SPORTS Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch have begun. TODAY we will be in the quad for dodgeball if you would like to join us. On Thursday we will start with Volleyball. Everyone is welcome!!!

1.       FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE MEETS Wednesday September 26th in Room 45 at lunch, upstairs in the Academic Building.  We will be working on "Story of Self" and how we define feminism.  Come see what we're all about!

2.       Hey Gamers!  RHS eSports is off to a great start!  We MEET every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. upstairs in the library.  Our Fall Season has started and our first and our first Rocket League match is Wednesday September 26th, both start at 5:00 p.m. on their respective days. 3.       THE FIRST CSF MANDATORY MEETING IS SEPTEMBER 26TH AT LUNCH IN THE GYM.

Attendance will be taken, and important activities and events will be announced.  In addition, if you signed up for a t-shirt, or want one, they can be purchased in room RH 108 for $10. The last day to reserve and pay for a shirt is October 3, 2018.  Also, if you have not joined REMIND text @rangercsf to 81010.

4.       SCICON TRAINING for those interested in being a COUNSELOR will be on Thursday September 27th during 1st Period in the upstairs library.

5.       BROWN UNIVERSITY will be on campus Wednesday October 3rd during 4th period in the upstairs library.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

6.       PICTURE MAKE-UPS will be on Thursday October 4th from 11:30 a.m. - 1:10 p.m. in the Library.

7.      JUNIORS AND SENIORS!  Youth Leadership, a leadership and mentoring program is now available.  Apply today for the opportunity to make a difference in your community. 9.       MOONLIGHT HARVEST DANCE will be on Saturday October 13th at Golden West High School Gym from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.

10.   Halloween is upon us!!!! NIGHTMARE ON VISTA ST. is brought to you by LINK CREW. Please join us for a frightening evening on October 16th from 7-9pm. We will have our annual Haunted house on Sierra Vista, as well as food and carnival games for you enjoyment. Freshman get one free entry to the Haunted house and all others are 2$ at the door. Please bring your ID's.

11.   CHRISTIANS IN ACTION (C.I.A.) MEET on Wednesdays in room 39 (Academic Building). Come find out how to get involved.  Everyone is welcome!  #Dare2Share

Criteria:  Future leaders in all areas attending a college or university, it is not required

*Haz La U Scholarship
Amount: up to $15,000 grant:  *Be of Hispanic heritage.  *Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired).  *Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  *Be pursuing or plan to pursue your first undergraduate degree  *Have plans to enroll full-time in a degree seeking program at a two or four year U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U. *Horatio Alger Scholarship
