1.       TRY OUT FOR THE REDWOOD RANGER COLOR GUARD!  TODAY thru Friday, May 3rd from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. in Room 81 (Band Room).

2.       The CSF LUNCHEON FOR CURRENT LIFETIME MEMBERS IS TODAY AT THE VISALIA CONVENTION CENTER.  SENIORS will be excused from 11:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by the Attendance Office, and should have the following memorized:  name, university attending, major, special interest, and someone to thank.  In addition, students are reminded to abide by the strict and mandated dress code!

3.       PTSA MEETING TODAY at 5:00 pm- Room 104. There is still time to attend a PTSA meeting this school year! Everyone is welcome.

4.      INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED DANCE AUDITION:  Auditions TODAY from 5:00-6:00 p.m.  This audition is for incoming 8th graders and students that are not already enrolled in a Redwood dance class.  Students should have a minimum of 1 year of formal dance training.  Students with no formal training should sign up for Intro to Dance (no audition required). Students should wear dance attire & jazz shoes.  Bring the completed packet with you to auditions.  Students will be placed into one of the following classes:  Introduction to Dance, Intermediate Dance or Advanced Dance. *Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.

5.      DANCE TEAM AUDITION (2days required) Day 1 - TODAY 6:00-8:00 p.m. This audition is for 8th - 11th grade advanced level dancers.  Students will learn the skills and dance combinations required for auditions.  Students should wear dance attire & jazz shoes.*Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.  Day 2 - Tuesday, April 30th  5:00-8:30 p.m.  This audition is for 8th - 11th grade advanced level dancers.  *Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.  Students should wear solid color dance attire, jazz shoes & hair secured neatly.  Students will be placed into one of the following classes:  Introduction to Dance, Intermediate Dance,   Advanced Dance, or Dance Performance (Dance Team).
SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       LAST CALL FOR GRAD NITE TICKET SALES, only 15 tickets left!  Pick up a packet to be filled out and $135 in the Finance Office!

2.       The YEARBOOK staff is still taking applications for the 2019-2020 school year, extended through this Wednesday May 1st. This is a class where you will learn photography, photojournalism, interviewing, and writing, and build great life skills. We are a nationally-recognized, award-winning program; come be a part of it! Get an application from your counselor or Mr. Feehan in room 40.

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:



1.       ASB APPLICATIONS are still being passed out! If you're interested in applying to be a part of the class, or want to run for office come grab a packet from Ms. Aguilar in Room 31. Applications are due April 30th by 3:30pm to Ms. Aguilar. Packets are also available in the office next to the yearbook applications.

2.       2019-2020 Girls Tennis Information Meeting May-2nd

Date changed from May-1st to May-2nd to accommodate physicals)

We will be having a meeting during lunch in front of the girls locker room on May-2nd. Discussion will include pre-season and mandatory summer practice dates, along with season expectations. A remind code will be handed out for distribution of future information. 3.      POWDERPUFF is FRIDAY MAY 3rd in the Bowl. The JV game is at 6:00pm and the Varsity game is at 7:30pm.

4.       AP TESTING will be held from May 6th thru May 17th.

5.       STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY Monday May 6th.  Student Release Time 1:53 p.m.
SENIORS:

1.       GRAD NITE is Thursday May 16th.  We will be leaving Redwood from the Mineral King Parking Lot to head to Magic Mountain at 7:00 p.m.  Students need to be at campus NO LATER THAN 6:45 p.m.

Criteria:  Must be an Asian or Pacific Islander woman, US citizen or permanent legal resident, must be a resident of Central CA, academic achievement, extracurricular achievements, financial need.

Must be a 4 year Dance Force Member, plus one of the following: declared dance major, dance minor, college or university dance team member or contracted with a professional talent agency (specializing in dance).  Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship and what their focus will be in college (minor, major, dance team or professional talent agency).
Applicant must provide proof of enrollment & proof of major, minor, team or agency in order to receive scholarship funds.

**RHS DREAM Dance Performing Arts Scholarship
Criteria to apply is the following:
Dance Major (BA or BFA)
Attending a 4 year University
3.0 GPA or higher
Proof of Major & Full Time Enrollment
Must provide proof of the above when applying for the scholarship & in order to receive the scholarship funds.  Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship, detailed description of their dance experience and explanation of their future goals in the art of dance.
