TODAY:

1.       LOVE WEEK will be held TODAY - February 15th.  DRESS UP DAYS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

TODAY:  Perfect Pair (Dynamic Pair (Dynamic Duo); Thursday February 14th: Spotlight Day (Taken/Red, Talking/Pink, Single/White, Player/Black); Friday February 15th: Spirit Day (Wear Your Love Week Shirts!).

2.    Valentines GRAMS are on the way!!!  TODAY Link crew will be selling Flower grams this week during LOVE WEEK. We are going to have a table set up by Ranger hall before school and during lunch so you have a chance to send your loved ones a special message with a Rose on Valentine's day. Grams will be delivered during 5th period.

3.       CSF YEARBOOK PICTURE for all current members will be taken TODAY behind the library (south side) on the steps!  Be sure to wear your CSF t-shirt!  If you do not have a t-shirt, there are a few left to purchase for $10 each on a first-come, first-serve basis!  Freshmen will have qualified, and will be expected to be there for the picture.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       INTERACT CLUB--Dr. Seuss Day sign-ups are in Google Classroom! Come to room 101 for a permission slip!

2.       CSF FALL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THURSDAY FEBRUARY 14th.  If you are a SENIOR, and have not yet applied, your lifetime status will be affected or delayed.  This is very IMPORTANT, and if you are unsure of your status or have any concerns, please contact Mrs. Cheatwood ASAP at gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> or come by Room 108.

3.       MANDATORY CSF MEETING FOR LIFETIME SENIORS:  ALL CSF LIFETIME SENIORS (as of this month) must attend a MEETING in Room 108 at lunch on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 26th.  We will go over important details for graduation and for the SENIOR LUNCHEON that will take place on Monday April 29th.  If you are not sure of your current senior status, please contact Mrs. Cheatwood ASAP at gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> or come by Room 108.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       ATTENTION CLUB OFFICERS: please speak with your advisers and schedule a yearbook group photo ASAP. Teachers have a link to a form for scheduling. Group photos need to be taken by February 15th.

2.       9th and 10th grades only: The PSAT 10 will be held in RHS Library on Wednesday March 6th 7:45am-12:15pm; cost is $16.00 per student.  REGISTRATION IS OPEN AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED.  SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS. Students can pay $16 in the Finance Center (Before School, After-school and at lunch).  Cash or Card only.  No checks.  Students may also pay online through the Ranger Web Store.  https://www.vusd.org/redwood  There is a small convenience fee. The PSAT 10 is designed for 9th & 10th grade students only.  Please pick up your student guide and practice test in the RHS Finance Center once the PSAT 10 fee is paid.  Any questions please see Mr. Matta.

3.       WRITING ON THE WALLS, the school wide writing and art contest is now open and accepting poetry, prose and art submissions. Anyone who is a current student at RHS can enter. For rules or more info see Miss Link in room 103 or email her at mlink at vusd.us<mailto:mlink at vusd.us>. Winners will be published in the form of posters hung up around school and will be honored at a special event

called Poets On The Plaza. Deadline to enter is March 1.  Good luck and may the odds be always in your favor.

1.       AP TESTING REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.  AP TESTING will take place May 6 - May 17.  To register for an AP Exam, students must complete a registration form and pay for the exam in the Finance Office (cash only) or online at our Ranger Webstore.  Registration forms are in the Counseling Office outside of Ms. Ashford's office and on our school webpage.  The deadline to register is Wednesday March  27 at 3:30 p.m.  The cost is $94 per exam.  If you qualify for free or reduced lunch or meet Federal Income Guidelines, you may qualify for a fee waiver.  All students qualify for a one-time fee waiver for one exam.  Please see Ms. Ashford to apply for other fee waivers.  If you have any questions regarding AP testing, please contact Ms. Ashford.
SENIORS:

1.       GRAD NITE TICKET SALES:  GRAD NITE TICKETS for MAGIC MOUNTAIN will be available for SENIORS to purchase on Wednesday February 20th at 7:30 a.m. for $135 - CASH ONLY!  Tickets will be sold in the Redwood Gym.  SENIORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS UNTIL 7:00 a.m.!  ALL FINES must be cleared through the Finance Center before seniors can purchase a ticket.  GRAD NITE is Thursday May 16th.  We will be leaving Redwood from the Mineral King Parking Lot to head to Magic Mountain at 7:00 p.m.

Criteria:  (1) Attended Manuel F. Hernandez Elementary for 3 years (2) Graduating from high school this school year (3) Plans to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school (4) Earned a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative weighted GPA

*  The Dwelle Four Year Scholarship is a four year college scholarship for the Redwood High School graduate who maintains a 2.8 or greater grade point average. The scholarship can be as much as $3,000 per year for a full four years.
*  The Provident Salierno Family Foundation Music Scholarship is for students interested in a music career who maintains a 3.0 or greater grade point average. The scholarship currently provides about $600 per year for the student at the five high schools listed in the purpose.
*The Richard B. "Dick" Watson $2,000 STEM Scholarship (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)scholarship consists of two, one-time scholarships awarded each year to students from either Redwood, Mt. Whitney, Golden West, or El Diamante high schools who have demonstrated excellence in both the classroom and extracurricular activities.
*The Robert Harrell Career and Technical Education Scholarship currently gives approximately 30 scholarships at $1,000 each for various vocational technical programs. The scholarship is for a student who is from Visalia and is pursuing a vocational technical school in an accredited institution.
*The Jane & Bill Nash Scholarship consists of a $4,000, one year college scholarship for a graduating Redwood High School senior who maintains an unweighted, grade point average between 2.8 and 3.5.
