TODAY:

1.       ENCHANTED EVENING PROM DRESS GIVE-AWAY IS HERE!  JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS please sign up TODAY in the Counseling Office if in need of a dress and 1 accessory (purse or jewelry)! DEADLINE to sign up is April 8th.  Event is on April 13th at 6:00 a.m. at the Wyndham Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn)!

2.       TUX & TAILS IS ONCE AGAIN ALLOWING BOYS TO SIGN UP TODAY FOR TUXEDO'S FOR PROM.  Student will have to go to Tux & Tails and be measured NO LATER THAN APRIL 26th.  Students must bring their School Student ID card to be measured.   If interested please sign up in the Counseling Office.

3.       PRO-MED STUDENTS! Please stop by the XL office no later than TODAY to pick up an invitation for the PRO-MED AND FAMILY APPRECIATION DINNER ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3RD! You MUST pick up an invitation to reserve your spot for the event. If you have any additional questions, please contact Emily Flores, Pro-MED Specialist.

4.       FOR THE LOVE OF ART - Do you know a high school student artist looking to make $ on their art? Let them know VISALIA EDUCATION FOUNDATION (VEF) can help them sell their art...it's easy and fun!  Check out VEF's website for information on their upcoming art show and sale, For the Love of Art!  http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org/ The deadline for submission has been extended to TODAY.

5.       Do you have batteries you need to dispose of?  Not sure how to properly do so?  TODAY GREEN CLUB will be collecting used batteries in the quad at lunch!  Bring your old batteries to school to get recycled and learn a little about living GREEN!

1.       RANGERS! BATTLE OF THE RANGERS WEEK IS NEXT WEEK, APRIL 1st-5th! This year is a WEEK LONG competition between Team Seniors/Freshmen, Team Juniors/Sophomores, and the Staff Team. ASB will be hosting lunch time activities, dress up days, and competitions in the BLACKLIGHT rally on Friday April 5th. The DRESS UP DAYS ARE: Monday April 1st Country vs. Country Club, Tuesday April 2nd Rockers vs. Rappers, Wednesday April 3rd Fashion Disaster vs. Fashion Police, Thursday April 4th Disney vs. Universal, and Friday April 5th is Neon Day! Wear your best neon colors or white to glow underneath the Blacklights! It's going to be a super fun week!

2.       Hip Hop Try Outs for Fall 2019 - April 3rd & 4th at lunch.  All interested students need to attend on Wednesday, April 3rd at lunch to learn the choreography.  Auditions will be at lunch on Thursday, April 4th for students that are new to the dance program. Students that are already in a dance class will audition during class.

3.       DANCE TEAM PREP CLINIC - Friday, April 5th - 4:00-6:00 p.m..  If you are interested in improving your dance skills & dance at the high school level this clinic is for you. 6th-11th grade students are welcome. 4.       LINK CREW 2019-2020 APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE!!!! If you would like to be considered for Link Crew 19'-20' and participate in freshman orientation next year please complete the application and turn in the MRS. WALL by April 5th. 5.       What is up Gamers, COMPUTER AND ESPORTS CLUB is holding a Smash Ultimate Tournament Friday, April 12 5pm-8pm in the Cafeteria do you have what it takes to be Redwoods Champ? Register now for only 10 dollars, there are only 32 slots available! After Friday April 5th registration increases to 15 dollars. Not a big gamer? No problem, non-comp entry is only 2 dollars with Student ID and 5 dollars without ID; our local game store GameQore will be in the house playing Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and Pokemon with interested students for free! We will have raffles for a D&D book, a Magic deck, and a Pokemon deck! AOLJ Club will be selling food/snacks, and we might have a movie station! Get a Registration from Mr. Cazarez in Room 45 of the Academic Building!

6.       ATTENTION GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING POWDERPUFF AND COACHES INTERESTED IN COACHING!!!! POWDERPUFF IS FRIDAY MAY 3RD in the Bowl. The JV game is at 6:00pm and the Varsity game is at 7:30pm. There are informational meetings for each class on the rules to play, how to get a medical clearance form, and how to get a team t shirt.

Senior Meeting: Monday April 8th, Junior Meeting: Tuesday April 9th, Sophomore Meeting: Wednesday April 10th, Freshmen Meeting: Thursday April 11th. All meetings will be in the ASB room (Room 31) and will start at 1:00pm on Monday, and 12:45pm Tuesday-Thursday. Come if you're interested in playing!

7.       CSF POTENTIAL LIFETIME SENIORS:  IF YOU NEED THIS SEMESTER IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A MANDATORY MEETING on Thursday April 9th in Room 108 during lunch.  At this time, you will receive instructions on how to attain lifetime status, and what you must do before graduation.  This announcement is not for those seniors who have already achieved lifetime membership and have been invited to the Senior Luncheon. 8.       CSF MANDATORY MEETING will be held in the gym on Wednesday April 10th at lunch time.  Graduation information procedure for potential lifetime members and conference reports are just some of the items on the agenda.  Attendance will be taken; plan on being there!  It is IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOUR MEMBERSHIP ACTIVE!

9.       JUNIORS.....You are invited to apply to the Visalia Rotary "Camp Royal" Leadership Conference this summer! Applications are available in the Counseling office (Mrs. Torres).Deadline to submit your application to the counseling office is Wednesday, April 24th. Listed below are some facts regarding the application process and selection:
*         Camp Royal runs from Sunday, June 9th to Friday, June 14th...you must be able to attend the entire camp session.

*         Application and interview will be used to select students

*         Two letters of recommendation are required.

*         Students must write a 100 words or less essay entitled: Why I would like to attend Camp royal and leadership responsibilities you have had in the past

10.   REDWOOD CULTURE & CLIMATE TEAM: Attention all Redwood students!  Principal Shin is searching for student leaders to be a part of the Redwood Culture and Climate Team. The purpose of the team will be to foster and sustain a positive culture and climate at Redwood. The team will meet monthly with Principal Shin to address concerns or issues that arrive throughout the school year.  If you are interested in being a Redwood Culture and Climate Team member, please contact Mrs. Barba-Tepper or sign-up in the Counseling Office with Mrs. Hayslett.

11.   STAFF AND STUDENTS: AS OF TODAY STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR HEADGEAR. This includes, but is not limited to caps, bandanas, sweatbands, hairnets, beanies, and do-rag! However, STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO WEAR "sun-protective headgear," which consists of a full brim hat, with no logo or lettering, which is of a solid color and is made of either canvas or cotton cloth. The hat is to be worn as intended to provide sun protection and is only to be worn outdoors.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Lor, Mr. Paolinelli, or Mr. Marroquin.

12.   Spring is in full force and what pairs well with Spring? JAMBA! FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE is selling Jamba Juice cards for 10 dollars! Each card gets you 6 buy one get one smoothie offers! Help us raise funds and get your card from a Feminist Perspective member or come by room 45 in the academic building!

13.   M.E.CH.A. AND XL LEADERSHIP CLUBS students would like to challenge all the students at Redwood High School to keep our campus clean. Please throw your trash in the nearest trashcan.

1.       GRAD NITE is Thursday May 16th.  We will be leaving Redwood from the Mineral King Parking Lot to head to Magic Mountain at 7:00 p.m.  Students need to be at campus NO LATER THAN 6:45 p.m.
