TODAY:
1. AP TESTING REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. AP TESTING will take place May 4th - May 15th. To register for an AP Exam, students must complete a registration form and pay for the exam in the Finance Office (cash only) or online at our Ranger Webstore. Registration forms are in the Counseling Office outside of Ms. Molina's office. THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS TODAY AT 3:30P.M. NO EXCEPTIONS. The cost is $94 per exam. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch or meet Federal Income Guidelines, you may qualify for a fee waiver. ALL STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR A ONE-TIME FEE WAIVER FOR ONE EXAM. Please see Ms. Molina to apply for other fee waivers. If you have any questions regarding AP testing, please contact Ms. Molina she will be available all week during lunch.
2. Elk's National Foundation Most Valuable Student
Amount: $1,000-$12,500 per year

3. FIRST 100 STUDENTS FREE TODAY! To students who come and support RHS Volleyball second playoff game. Free entrance provided by Volleyball Boosters.
4. RED ALERT! ACTUALLY, RED INK ALERT. Red Ink is meeting TODAY in Room 103 at lunch, Come hear about our flash fiction contest and come write with us. Anyone is welcome.
5. DRAMA CLUB WILL BE HAVING AUDITIONS FOR AN END OF YEAR SHOW! Space Princess Wars is a show based on Princess Bride and Star Wars combined. Come to an informational meeting November 5TH in the Drama Room. Audition material will be passed out at that time.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:
1. FRESNO STATE SMITTCAMP HONORS COLLEGE PRESENTATION: Our own Redwood alumni Adam Miller and Brianna Lopez will be presenting information about Fresno State's Smittcamp Family Honors College to any interested Redwood students. The criteria for current seniors to apply are a minimum 3.8 GPA, OR ranking top 10% of graduating class, OR combined score of 1200 on SAT or ACT average score of 27. The presentation will be during 2nd period in the Cafeteria this Friday, November 8th. Any interested student can sign-up in the Redwood Counseling Office if you would like to attend.

3. XL PROGRAM invites you to come by every Wednesday and Thursday from October 23rd to November 21st to the RHS Library from 3:30pm-4:30pm. They will be helping out with any questions or support you may need in your COLLEGE APPLICATIONS, FAFSA, OR CA DREAM ACT. There will be chrome-books available for you to use
4. CSF MEETING is Wednesday, November 6th in the gym at 12:35. Topics include upcoming community projects, t-shirt delivery, the SPCA & SOUP Kitchen project reports, senior luncheon and graduation info, trivia quizzes, and lots more! Attendance will be taken and doors will be locked at 12:40. Don't miss out!!
5. BOYS SOCCER BOOSTERS will have their first meeting of the season in the Redwood Library on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
6. GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY representative will be on campus Wednesday November 6th during 5th period in the upstairs library. Sign up in the Counseling Office.
7. A FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY representative will be on campus Thursday November 7th during 6th period in the upstairs library. Sign up in the Counseling Office.
8. FALL ORCHESTRA CONCERT will be performing Thursday November 7th at 7p.m. in the L.J. Williams Theatre.
9. FALL STUDENT RECOGNITION ASSEMBLY, Friday November 8th
10. The ASVAB TEST will be held on Tuesday November 12th for those interested in taking it. The test begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Downstairs Library. Sign up in the Counseling Office.
11. The annual PTSA SUPERFAN fundraiser has begun! This is PTSA;s primary fundraiser so we can provide 5 senior scholarships, provide a teacher and staff appreciation lunch and donate a SUPERFAN t-shirt to every RHS student! 12. SAVE THE DATE!!! The Redwood Ranger Marching Band and Color Guard's 15th Annual Holiday Home Tour will be December 14th from 12pm-5pm. Stay tuned for information on ticket sales!!!
SENIORS:
1. 1,000 WORDS FOR $1,000! The Michelson Memorial Award is open to all seniors who are current members of CSF. Members have until December 22nd to submit essays in response to the prompt published at the CSF state website: https://csf-cjsf.org/csf-awards/. Our chapter number is 512 and will be required to submit an entry. For questions, see Mrs. Cheatwood in room 108.

2. COMCAST LEADERS AND ACHIEVERS(r) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Criteria:
* Have a demonstrated commitment to community service, outstanding qualities in character, integrity and leadership

Amount: $2,000
Criteria: You must be a member, joint member or joint owner of Educational Employees Credit Union a minimum of 6 months prior to application close date. Account must be in good standing.

4. FOOT LOCKER SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: Up to $20,000
Criteria:
* Be entering college in the Fall of 2019 as a Freshman at a four-year school for an undergraduate degree.
* Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports.
* Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
* Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win).
* Not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director.

5. The Burger King Scholars
AMOUNT: SCHOLARSHIPS UP TO $50,000. Criteria: high school senior with a cumulative 2.5 GPA or above, and must be active in their community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations.

6. EDISON INTERNATIONAL'S $1.2 MILLION EDISON SCHOLARS PROGRAM will award $40,000 scholarships paid over four years to 30 high school seniors planning to major in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) fields at accredited four-year colleges and universities. The Edison Scholars Program eligibility requirements include: High school senior must live or attend a high school in Southern California Edison (SCE)'s service area or attend an eligible high school surrounding SCE's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, plan to be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer and Information Services, Management Information Systems, Natural Resources and Conservation or Physical Sciences and demonstrate financial need.
