TODAY:
1. IMPORTANT CSF NEWS: If you will be a junior or senior next year, are currently a 100% CSF member, have a 4.0 GPA, are active in community projects, attend meetings consistently, and would like to be a CSF officer for 2019-2020, please come by room 108 and pick up an officer application. These must be completed and turned in at a mandatory meeting at lunch TODAY. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Cheatwood in room 108.
2. MANDATORY CSF MEETING FOR LIFETIME SENIORS: ALL CSF Lifetime seniors (as of 2/11/20) must attend a meeting in room 108 at lunch on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2020. We will go over important details for graduation and for the senior luncheon that will take place on Tuesday, April 28th. If you are not sure of your current senior status, please contact Mrs. Cheatwood ASAP at gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> or come by room RH 108.

1. SCICON TRAINING: For those students interested in being a Scicon Counselor, there will be training on February 20th during 2nd period in the Upstairs Library. Sign-ups will be in the Counseling Office.
2. A US NAVAL ACADEMY REPRESENTATIVE will be on campus February 26th during 5th period in the Upstairs Library. Sig-up in the Counseling Office.
3. A COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE from Azusa Pacific University will be on campus February 27th during 2nd period in the Library. Sign-ups will be in the Counseling Office.
4. WOW! IT'S BACK! Red Ink and Lit & Expression are delighted to once again bring you the Writing On The Walls contest. Writing, both prose and poetry and art entries will be accepted. We give awards in all three categories and publish the winners on posters that are hung around campus. If you'd like a chance to be published and share your work with the whole school, please enter today. Rules are available on the door of room 103. All entries must be typed/photographed and turned in digitally to mlink at vusd.us<mailto:mlink at vusd.us>. Deadline to enter is February 28 at midnight. Questions? 5. 9TH AND 10TH GRADES ONLY: The PSAT 10 will be held in RHS Library on Wednesday March 11th 7:45am-12:15pm; cost is $18.00 per student. REGISTRATION IS OPEN AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED. SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS. Students can pay $18 in the Finance Center (Before School, After-school and at lunch). Cash or Card only. No checks. Students may also pay online through the Ranger Web Store. https://www.vusd.org/redwood there is a small convenience fee. The PSAT 10 is designed for 9th & 10th grade students only. Please pick up your student guide and practice in the RHS Finance Center once the PSAT 10 fee is paid. Any questions please see Mr. Matta.
6. FBLA presents The Feelin' Fresh Hygiene Closet. If you need everyday hygiene products (eq. shampoo/ conditioner, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, fem hyg products, etc.) for free, stop by the nurse's office and grab some!
7. ENJOY GAMING? Come put your skills to the test and take your team all the way to the state championship. This spring Redwood high school will have League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Fortnite, and a Smash Bros. esports teams. Contact Mr. Cazarez Room 45 with your interest in gaming for this spring season.

11. THE FOLLOWING 5 SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE VISALIA ROTARY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

* The Dwelle Four Year Scholarship is a four year college scholarship for the Redwood High School graduate who maintains a 2.8 or greater grade point average. The scholarship can be as much as $3,000 per year for a full four years.
* The Provident Salierno Family Foundation Music Scholarship is for students interested in a music career who maintains a 3.0 or greater grade point average. The scholarship currently provides about $600 per year for the student at the five high schools listed in the purpose.
*The Richard B. "Dick" Watson $2,000 STEM Scholarship (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) scholarship consists of two, one-time scholarships awarded each year to students from either Redwood, Mt. Whitney, Golden West, or El Diamante high schools who have demonstrated excellence in both the classroom and extracurricular activities.
*The Robert Harrell Career and Technical Education Scholarship currently gives approximately 30 scholarships at $1,000 each for various vocational technical programs. The scholarship is for a student who is from Visalia and is pursuing a vocational technical school in an accredited institution.
*The Jane & Bill Nash Scholarship consists of a $4,000, one year college scholarship for a graduating Redwood High School senior who maintains an unweighted, grade point average between 2.8 and 3.5.

Qualifications: To qualify, the applicant must be a graduating senior, possess no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, have participated in two varsity sports in the Central Section for at least two years and have a record of good citizenship.
