NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.      GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY will be on campus February 4th during 3rd period in the Library. Sign-ups in the Counseling Office.

2.      THE NEXT PTSA MEETING is Monday, January 27 at 12:15 pm in the Redwood Library. Seniors need to be a member of PTSA or join by Jan. 31 to be eligible to apply for a PTSA-scholarship. 3.      CSF FALL MEMBERSHIP drive will be held the week of February 3rd through February 7th, 2020. Bring the following to room RH 108 during Lunch:  *completed application form (pick up early in room RH 108), *fall semester transcript provided to ALL students in their English classes by January 31, *a donation of one handback book for the Redwood Library, and *$5 fee to cover graduation supplies. Friday 2/07/20 is the deadline to apply. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A TRANSCRIPT FROM THE OFFICE OR COUNSELING DEPARTMENT. Freshmen are now eligible to apply for membership with their first semester grades. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Cheatwood at gcheatwood at vusd.org<mailto:gcheatwood at vusd.org> or come to room 108.
PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.      ATTENTION BOY SWIMMERS: If you are interested in coming out for the boys swim team, all new swimmers are expected to make practice on Wednesday (1-22) and Thursday (1-23) 3:30 to 5:00. All returning swimmers will start practice after school from 3:30-5:30 on Monday (1-27). Please make sure that you are athletically cleared through Redwood's website and office. Coach Fuller (Rm 36).

2.      A COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE from Azusa Pacific University will be on campus February 27th during 2nd period in the Library.  Sign-ups will be in the Counseling Office.

3.      FOR THE LOVE OF ART! - Are you or do you know a high school student artist looking to make $ on their art?  Visalia Education Foundation (VEF) can help students sell their art...it's easy and fun!  Check out VEF's website for information on their upcoming art show and sale, For the Love of Art at http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org/. The deadline for submission is Thursday, February 27th, but it's not too early to start thinking about what you'll create!

4.      HEY GAMERS!  RHS Esports is doing awesome things in the fall season!  Remember you can check out all of our games live on our Twitch and you can see the videos on our YouTube Channel too!

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  1.  JUNIORS AND SENIORS: College Board has launched the College Board Opportunity Scholarship. Please visit https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/ for additional information. Scholarship deadlines vary.

2.      ATTENTION STUDENTS! Would you like to earn scholarship money using your speaking skills? If so, take advantage of this great opportunity. This contest is open to all students' grades 9-12. The Lions Club will be hosting the 2020 Student Speakers Contest. This year's topic is "Homelessness in California: What is the solution?" The contest will take place February 3rd. For signs ups and more information, see Mrs. Jauregui in the Counseling Office!

The deadline to sign up is January 23rd.

3.      RUIZ 4 KIDS SCHOLARSHIPS

AMOUNT: Varies

Criteria: HS senior, minimum 3.0gpa for students attending a 4yr college, 2.5gpa for students attending a 2yr college or trade school, sealed school transcripts, essay (instructions on web), letter of recommendation, one-page resume.

4.      SONS OF ITALY 2019 NATIONAL LEADERSHIP GRANT COMPETITION
