SPORTS TODAY/EARLY RELEASES:

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.      9TH AND 10TH GRADES ONLY: The PSAT 10 will be held in RHS Library on Wednesday March 11th 7:45am-12:15pm; cost is $18.00 per student.  REGISTRATION IS OPEN AND WILL CLOSE ONCE ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED.  SPACE IS LIMITED AND IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SIGN-UP BASIS. Students can pay $18 in the Finance Center (Before School, After-school and at lunch).  Cash or Card only.  No checks.  Students may also pay online through the Ranger Web Store.  https://www.vusd.org/redwood  there is a small convenience fee. The PSAT 10 is designed for 9th & 10th grade students only.  Please pick up your student guide and practice in the RHS Finance Center once the PSAT 10 fee is paid.  Any questions please see Mr. Matta.

2.      DIGITAL ART CLUB (RAD) is meeting again this semester starting after-school today...The meeting time is 3:30 - 5P every Wednesday in Room SV 2.

3.      ENJOY GAMING? Come put your skills to the test and take your team all the way to the state championship. This spring Redwood high school will have League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Fortnite, and a Smash Bros. esports teams. Contact Mr. Cazarez Room 45 with your interest in gaming for this spring season.


PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.      CSF MANDATORY MEETING: The next CSF meeting is Wednesday, January 29, in the gym at 12:35. Topics include application week, upcoming community projects, senior luncheon and graduation info; trivia quizzes, and lots more! Attendance will be taken and is required to keep membership active! Don't miss out!!

2.      BOYS SOCCER SENIOR NIGHT is on Friday, January 31st! Please come out and cheer on the seniors and their team as they battle Hanford. Game time at 6pm.

3.      FRI 1/31: CLUB DAY! We will be having another club day this semester to try and gain more interest in all our clubs on campus. If your club is interested in participating please complete the link below.  Last day to register is 1/30.

4.      ATTENTION! Next week is the last chance to guarantee a yearbook or to buy a senior ad. Senior ad sales and yearbook presales end on January 31st. buy in the finance office or online at Jostens.com. Contact Mr. Feehan for any questions.

5.      PARENT NIGHT: Informational meeting for current Redwood parents regarding registration for current 9th-11th grade students on Wednesday, February 5th in the RHS cafeteria. Grades 9-10th at 5:30pm and grade 11th at 6:30pm.

6.      CSF FALL MEMBERSHIP drive will be held the week of February 3rd through February 7th, 2020. Bring the following to room RH 108 during Lunch:  *completed application form (pick up early in room RH 108), *fall semester transcript provided to ALL students in their English classes by January 31, *a donation of one handback book for the Redwood Library, and *$5 fee to cover graduation supplies. Friday 2/07/20 is the deadline to apply. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A TRANSCRIPT FROM THE OFFICE OR COUNSELING DEPARTMENT. Freshmen are now eligible to apply for membership with their first semester grades. 7.      GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY will be on campus February 4th during 3rd period in the Library. Sign-ups in the Counseling Office.

8.      A COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE from Azusa Pacific University will be on campus February 27th during 2nd period in the Library.  Sign-ups will be in the Counseling Office.

9.      ATTENTION SENIORS! Are you struggling to find scholarships to apply for? Redwood XL has a binder with scholarships you may qualify for. 10.  THE SATURDAY ACADEMY is up and running.  Spring semester dates are:  Jan 25, Feb 8 & 22, March 7, 14, & 21, April 18 & 25, and May 2, 9, 16 & 30.  If you are a senior, this recovers any previous absences.  The Academy is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  Please be on time and enter through the gate between the cafeteria and the auto shop.  Please check with attendance office to find out which teachers will be holding classes!

  1.  JUNIORS AND SENIORS: College Board has launched the College Board Opportunity Scholarship. Please visit https://opportunity.collegeboard.org/ for additional information. Scholarship deadlines vary.

2.      RUIZ 4 KIDS SCHOLARSHIPS

AMOUNT: Varies

Criteria: HS senior, minimum 3.0gpa for students attending a 4yr college, 2.5gpa for students attending a 2yr college or trade school, sealed school transcripts, essay (instructions on web), letter of recommendation, one-page resume.

3.      SONS OF ITALY 2019 NATIONAL LEADERSHIP GRANT COMPETITION
