CAASP TEST

1.      THE ENGLISH part of the CAASPP Test for all JUNIORS will be administered from Tuesday, March 10th through Friday, March 13th.  Juniors will take the state test in their Junior English class. The following is the schoolwide block schedule for all Redwood students during the four testing days.

TODAY:

1.      ART BOOSTERS: Any art parents interested in becoming part of our art boosters please come to a meeting in Yates room SV P3 on Thursday 3/5 at 6pm!

2.      MULTICULTURAL CLUB meeting today March 5th during lunch in Room 70.  Please come as we will take our yearbook picture.  Also, the "Teens for Jeans" drive has been extended to Friday March 3rd -- you can drop off any type of jeans in the office or in Room 70.  Thank you!!!

3.      GREEN CLUB Meeting Today at Lunch in Room 33!

4.      ALOHA SPRING FLING DANCE will be on March 7th from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. in the El Diamante Gym.  Tickets will be on sale TODAY, before school, during lunch and after school.  Last day to purchase tickets is FRIDAY MARCH 7TH UNTIL 1:00 P.M. NO EXCEPTIONS.  Ticket prices: $10.00 with ASB sticker; $20 without ASB sticker and $40 at the door.  If student is brining another student outside VUSD must fill out a Guest Dance Pass in order to purchase tickets.  ALL FINES MUST BE CLEARED to purchase a ticket and you must bring current student ID.

1.      SCICON COUNSELORS needed for the week of March 16th.  Please sign up with Mrs. Hayslett ASAP.


PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.      HIP HOP CLUB Meeting & Picture, March 6 @ lunch in the dance room.  Please wear Hip Hop T shirt or solid black T with jeans for the picture.  Be ready to vote for Mr. Ranger Nominee.

2.      CONGRATULATIONS to Rikki Gonzalez and Noelle Andrew for being selected as Seymour candidates for the CSF Central Region.  They will compete with 8 other top students for the Seymour Memorial Award on March 28th!  Best Wishes!!!

3.      NEXT MANDATORY CSF MEETING IS MARCH 18TH in the gym at lunch.  New 2020-2021 officers will be introduced, and there is a community service opportunity that you can sign up for.  In addition, there will be treats, trivia, and audience engagement!  Don't miss out!  Keep your membership active!!!!

4.      THE NEXT Presidents Council meeting will be Wednesday 3/25 at lunch in room 31.  Food will be provided.  We will be discussing battle week, car show, powder puff and more.

5.      PROM DRESS GIVE-AWAY!! Need help with the cost of a Prom Dress? Come to the Wyndham Hotel Visalia from 6am-1p on Saturday, March 28th. All dresses are free for Junior and Senior girls. Sizes 0-30. Every girl receives a dress and 1 accessory (purse or Jewelry). Your name must be submitted by the school prior to the event. Sign up in the counseling office by March 8th.

6.      THE COLORING CLUB is meeting on March 9 at lunch in room 103. We have business to discuss and coloring to do.  Come join us!

7.      A REPRESENTATIVE from California Aeronautical University will be visiting on Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 during 6th period in the XL office 2nd floor of the library. Sign up in the XL office. They will be going over their programs in aircraft maintenance, aviation dispatch, aviation business administration, and professional pilot.

8.      THE WRITING ON THE WALLS deadline for submissions has been extended to March 13 at midnight. For rules, more info or to submit work contact Miss Link at mlink at vusd.us<mailto:mlink at vusd.us>.

9.      BIOLA University will be on campus on March 27th during 4th period. Sign up with Mrs. Hayslett in the counseling office.

10.  REDWOOD XL invites you to shape your future. Career Fair happening on April 14th, 2020 from 1:00-3:30pm in the RHS GYM. We will be having internship job opportunities, technical schools and for you to be able to speak to individuals in the career of your interest. Sign up in the XL office by April 1st, 2020. 11.  THE SATURDAY ACADEMY is here! Spring semester dates are:  March 7, 14, & 21, April 18 & 25, and May 2, 9, 16 & 30.  If you are a senior, this recovers any previous absences.  The Academy is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  Please be on time and enter through the gate between the cafeteria and the auto shop.  Please check with the attendance office to find out which teachers will be holding classes!

12.  FBLA presents The Feelin' Fresh Hygiene Closet. If you need everyday hygiene products (eq. shampoo/ conditioner, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, fem hyg products, etc.) for free, stop by the nurse's office and grab some!

13.  ENJOY GAMING? Come put your skills to the test and take your team all the way to the state championship. This spring Redwood high school will have League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Fortnite, and a Smash Bros. esports teams. Contact Mr. Cazarez Room 45 with your interest in gaming for this spring season.
