Attention 7th graders! Do you love to sing with the radio? How about singing in the shower? You may be just who we are looking for to join Valley Oak's TOP Choir! Think this might be you? Come by the choir room at break any day this week until Wednesday April 3rd to find what it takes to join Valley Oak's best singers! See you at break time! 2. Pulse Students are partnering up with Adventure Park to learn about the construction of their new water slides through STEM. Students will take an informative trip to Adventure Park to explore the construction of the slides from concept, to blueprint, to real time progress. PULSE students will wrap it all up with a special trip to the slides after their opening at the end of May, beginning of June. Sign up today to join our STEM Club and be one the first in town to try out Adventure Parks new water slides. 3. Attention all 7th graders. If you are interested in applying for AVID see Mrs. Gonzalez in room 104. All applications, personal essays, and recommendations are due by Friday, March 29th. See Mrs. Gonzalez if you have any questions. 4. Attention all 8th graders! If you are interested in applying for AVID at Golden West, please see Mrs. Gonzalez in room 104. All AVID applications are due by Friday, March 29th. If you already have an application, please make sure to turn it in to the main office no later than March 29th. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Mrs. Gonzalez in room 104. 5. Warmer days are approaching. Please be award of dress code. Students coming to school out of dress code will be required to change. GWHS Dance Workshops will be held in the Dance room April 29th from 7:30-8:30 pm or April 30th from 3:30-4:30 pm. Participants will sign up for audition time at the workshop. Auditions will take place May 1st starting at 4:00 pm. 8. Don't Let the Memories Get Away!!!! Secure the 2018-2019 memories with a yearbook. As a bonus, you're automatically entered for a chance to win a MacBook Air* (a $1,200 value). 9. Reminder that selling food items on campus is prohibited. If you are caught selling stuff to other students you will face consequences. 10. Would you enjoy an early release to lunch next Wednesday? All you have to do is get to every class - on time. All students who accrue zero tardies will earn a 5 minute early lunch release next Wednesday. You can do it! 11. Cell phones are to be in backpacks and turned off from 8:15 am - 3:19 pm. 12. Attention Students with second lunch; if you would like to go to the library during lunch, you can pick up a lunch pass from the librarian before school or during break. This policy will start immediately and remain in effect until further notice. 13. Attention students: If you leave campus or cross the street you are not allowed to ride the bus home. 14. Students are to use the MPR bathrooms at break and at lunch. Center Bathrooms and East Bathrooms are off limits during those times. 15.
