DAILY BULLETIN

Students:

1.   The teachers that had the least tardies from April 1st-30th and earned a pizza party on Wednesday, May 8th, are as follows:  Mr. Cerecedo's and Mr. Hutchings' fourth period classes and Mr. Landry's and Mrs. Torres' fifth period classes.  Congratulations!

2.   GW Color Guard auditions are here! Workshops to learn the choreography and technique for the audition will be held from 6:00pm-8:30pm on Monday, May 6th and Wednesday, May 8th. The final audition will be held on Thursday, May 9th, from 5:00pm-9:00pm. All workshops and auditions will be in the Golden West band room (M5). Please visit Mr. Cory in the VO Band Room or email Mr. McFarlane at amcfarlane at vusd.org<mailto:amcfarlane at vusd.org> if you have any questions."

3.   WIN Academy will be on the following dates May 4, May 11, May 18, and June 1. Each day attended can make up an absence. WIN Academy runs from 8:00-12:30. You must attend the full time to be able to make up an attendance. Sign up online or talk/email Mr. Lara.

4.   Attention Valley Oak Athletes:  If you still have a uniform from any athletic team, you must return it to Mr. Delgado in room 402 right away.  If you do not return it, your parents will be given a bill to replace the uniform.

5.   Students:  You must clear with the library to participate in end of the year activities.  8th graders you will not walk in promotion if you haven't cleared textbooks, library books and fines with the library.  Currently, past due library books total 309 for 7th grade and 320 for 8th grade.

6.   Attention Students:  Water balloons and water guns are not allowed on campus.  If you have the items in your possession or are found participating in a water "fight", the items will be confiscated and you may face disciplinary action.

7.   8th Grade Athletes and Parents:  Come meet the coaches and learn about the Athletic Programs at Golden West on Monday, May 6th, from 6-7pm in Golden West's main gym.
8.   Attention 8th Grade Students:  Appropriate dress for both boys and girls will be required at the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony.  Absolutely NO baggy or saggy pants, spaghetti straps, backless dresses, hats, or other clothing that violates the VUSD Dress Code will be allowed.  Any student violating the dress code will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
9.  Don't Let the Memories Get Away!!!!  Secure the 2018-2019 memories with a yearbook. As a bonus, you're automatically entered for a chance to win a MacBook Air*  (a $1,200 value).
10.      Reminder that selling food items on campus is prohibited.  If you are caught selling stuff to other students you will face consequences.
11.      Cell phones are to be in backpacks and turned off from 8:15 am - 3:19 pm.
12.      Attention students: If you leave campus or cross the street you are not allowed to ride the bus home.

13. Students are to use the MPR bathrooms at break and at lunch. Center Bathrooms and East Bathrooms are off limits during those times.

14. Students who use cellphones to record school activities can face disciplinary action. Cell phones are to be put away and not seen during school hours.
