COS INFORMATION

Successful college students will be on time, be prepared, and be proactive. Take pride in this endeavor and strive your best. This is a big commitment!!!

Buy books, bus pass, and/or parking pass if needed.

Use COS resources, and see Mrs. Williams for assistance.

Check COS email daily!

Notify AVID teacher and Mrs. Williams immediately of any issues. Students are required to notify AVID teacher and Mrs. Williams if they drop from a class so we can schedule a class at VTEC. Note: This may have a detrimental effect on future financial aid, as well as cause attendance issues at VTEC.

Important Note! August 25th is the last day to drop a COS class without a "W." October 20th is the last day to drop with a "W". "W's" may affect your future financial aide, so make every attempt to complete the class, but drop before this deadline if absolutely necessary. If you earn less than a "C" at COS, you must retake the course, and again, this will affect your future financial aide! Your grades will follow you, good or bad.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Below are several volunteer organizations if you still need to complete your 12 hours per year of community service...

SCICON Counselors wanted for the 2017-18 school year! Dates TBA. Seniors who have not yet served will have first priority, juniors second, and you can earn 100 community service hours. Students must complete all missed work while away at SCICON, as well has have a high Career Readiness Rating. Students with low attendance, grades, or CRR's will need to improve by Spring to be considered. Prospective counselors must attend mandatory SCICON training. Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Roebuck in the office.

Students interested in volunteering for our 8th annual event AgriNation on September 23rd can view the informational flyer on the bulletin board. The purpose of the event is to show our girls and community members the importance of agriculture in our valley through various activities and game booths, and local vendors.
