Students:  You are required to show your ID card to get off campus during RTI and Lunch


**PROM IS COMING - MAY 13TH FROM 8PM-11PM @ THE CONVENTION CENTER.  TICKETS ARE $25/W ASB STICKER; $35/W/O ASB STICKER; and $45/DOOR (PRICES ARE PER PERSON).
TICKETS ARE FOR SALE IN THE OFFICE -
YOU WILL NEED A PERMISSION SLIP TO PURCHASE A TICKET**


ASB TEAM MEMBERS NEEDED -

If you answered yes to any of these questions, WE WANT YOU on the VTEC ASB team next year!

Applications are available in Room 8.  Completed applications and speeches are due by the end of break on Thursday May 11th.  Election held Friday May 19th.  Good Luck!


Qualified ASB candidates will be notified Friday, May 12th and will need to pre-record their speeches and email them to Mrs. Lefler at  jlefler at vusd.org<mailto:jlefler at vusd.org> by Monday, May 15th.



Candidates may place one poster up on Monday morning and leave it up until Friday.  See Mrs. Roebuck or Mrs. Lefler for blue painters tape.  DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TAPE!  All posters must be removed by the candidate by Friday during break.



If you need assistance, please see Mrs. Lefler in room 8.  Video speeches will be shown at the beginning of CAP class on Friday, May 19th, with elections taking place during CAP.  See an ASB leader if you have any questions.

SENIOR INFORMATION



Senior Scholarship Night is Tuesday, May 30th in the Arboretum.

UC'S AND CSU'S REQUIRE THAT YOU SUBMIT AN OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT NO LATER THAN JUNE 30TH.  YOU MUST COMPLETE A REQUEST FOR TRANSCRIPT FORM IN THE OFFICE.



Seniors - be sure to complete the VTEC Scholarship Application.  The Application has been emailed to your VUSD account.  You can also get a copy of the Application in the office.  DUE DATE IS MAY 15TH.



You must have 94% attendance to participate in graduation activities.  Attend classes daily, on-time, and Saturday School as needed to make up absences.

05/11/17 --------------------Night for parents of juniors: How to apply to college

*         VUSD District Office, Board Room at 6pm

*         Representatives from CSU admissions, UC admissions and COS's Financial Aid Office

*         District Counselor to cover common application, letters of recommendation, etc.

STUDENT INFORMATION


VTEC Family and Friends, come out and support the VTEC High School Blood Drive on Friday, May 26th from 8:30am -12:30 pm.  Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 16 years old (Donors under 18 years of age must have written parental consent). Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID is required at donor registration.



Students and Families:  Make plans to attend the FREE WACAC College Fair on Monday, June 12th from 5-8pm at the Visalia Convention Center.  Register at:  https://www.wacaccollegefair.com/Registration/EventSelectForState?stateName=All or visit the VTEC website.  This is a great way to visit lots of colleges without EVER leaving town!

Beginning Monday students leaving campus at lunch will be scanned out. Students who are academically ineligible, have excess tardies, or have moved to Behavior Intervention Tier 2  will NOT be allowed to leave campus.  Students may be scanned at the main gate and the gate next to Room 12. Students caught leaving without being scanned will lose lunch privileges.

COS INFORMATION


VTEC students are to take a minimum of one COS course per year.  Many students are taking more, and are on track to graduate with their AA degree, and/or with many transferable credits.



It's not too late to register for COS classes!  Make an appointment with Mrs. Williams.  You must have a Concurrent High School Permission Form on file and have completed an online application.  Registered students should pay fees, buy textbooks, and get parking/bus pass if needed.  Make sure you have a COS ID card, which may be necessary when taking tests ($5 replacement fee).  Make sure Mrs. Williams got a copy of your schedule and COS Request form.  If for any reason you feel you need to drop a class, see Mrs. Williams well in advance.  Students waitlisted for summer school must get an add code from their instructor and use that code to add yourself to the class immediately.  Visit the COS Welcome Center for assistance.


As the COS semester ends, make sure you bring your report card and any receipts to VTEC  (JZ) to have grades added to your transcript and request reimbursement of fees/textbooks (bring the book(s).
