**Back-to-School Night - Thursday, October 19th**

**VTEC Farm Store Grand Opening - TODAY 1:30pm-4:30pm**

STUDENT INFORMATION


VTEC FFA- Drive through BBQ is Thursday, October 19th. Pick up is from 5pm to 7pm. Tickets are $12 for individual and $45 for family Pack (4 individual dinners). FFA members may sell 8 tickets to earn 10 FFA points. Check out tickets from Ms. Thompson. Families can purchase tickets from FFA Members or any of the AG teachers.  Pre-order is recommended as limited dinners will be sold at Back to School Night! Proceeds go back to the chapter to fund future field trips and leadership conferences.  The last day to purchase tickets will be October 11th.  Monies will be due to Ms. Thompson on October 11th.



PSAT October 11th- All sophomores and juniors will test.  Juniors are eligible to earn scholarship money!



Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, October 21st from 7am-10am in the Party Barn.  Students will be selling tickets beginning next week.  Price is $5 per person.



ASL Club - Join the ASL Club on Tuesdays at lunch if you are interested in learning American Sign Language or if you are enrolled in an ASL COS class.  We will be learning songs and conversations and you can get extra help for your ASL class.  See Grace Webb for more information.  Meeting room - TBA.

VTEC Chess Club will meet Monday and Wednesday during lunch in the Party Barn.  You can sign up in the Breezeway and/or see Joseph Miller.


Congressman Nunes is hosting an Academy Night at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the CUSD Professional Development Building in Clovis.  This evening is for students (of all grade levels), along with their parents, to meet representatives from the academies, gather information and learn about academy life and the congressional nomination process.  Applications are being accepted for students seeking a Congressional Nomination to attend a United States Service Academy.  For graduating seniors, the Academy Nomination Application must be mailed or hand delivered to the Congressman's Visalia Office by Wednesday, November 15, 2017.  There are four U.S. Service Academies that require a congressional nomination: United States Air Force Academy<http://www.usafa.af.mil/>;  United States Merchant Marine Academy; United States Military Academy (West Point)<http://www.usma.edu/SitePages/Home.aspx>; United States Naval Academy<http://www.usna.edu/homepage.php>. Yearbooks for Sale - Yearbook Pricing Deadlines:  $45 until January 31st; $50 until May 21st and $55 for the remaining school year.  There will only be a hardcopy option available this year.  See Mrs. Fraley in Room 6, or any yearbook staff member with questions.
If you are interested in joining the ASL Club - sign up in the breezeway.

**Students were issued an ID card on picture day.  If you misplace your ID card - you may purchase another one for $5 in the office**

SENIOR INFORMATION

CSU applications open October 1st - https://www2.calstate.edu/apply!

Jostens will be on campus Tuesday, November 7th during AVID in Room 3 to take Cap and Gown orders.  Jostens will return on Wednesday, November 15th during AVID in Room 3 to take payment for the Cap and Gown orders.

Seniors have until January 31st to submit their senior portraits for the yearbook.  You may submit your photos to Mrs. Fraley in Room 6. If you do not submit a senior portrait, your school photo will be used.

*         November 7th - Jostens on campus to take Cap-N-Gown Orders

*         November 15th - Jostens on campus to take Cap-N-Gown Payments

*         January 31st  - Senior portraits for yearbook due to Mrs. Fraley

PARENT INFORMATON

Parents - Sign up on PowerSchool to view your student's grades and attendance.  Stop by the office to obtain your student's login information.
Parents - Sign up to receive the Bulletin daily.  View the VTEC website and click on Daily Bulletin Sign-Up.

COS INFORMATION

Important Note!  October 20th is the last day to drop with a "W".  "W's" may affect your future financial aide. If you earn less than a "C" at COS, you must retake the course, and again, this will affect your future financial aide!  Your grades will follow you, good or bad.
