STUDENT INFORMATION
Parking Permits are now required of all students who park in the student parking lot. You must show your drivers' license and know your vehicle make and model in order to obtain your Parking Permit.
STUDENTS: The front parking lot is for staff, parents and visitors only.
SCICON Training - Friday, March 9th at 8am. Please sign up in the office if you are interested.
Spring Fling (formally known at Sadies) will be held Saturday, March 3rd at MWHS. The theme is Let It Glow. Tickets are $15 w/ASB, $25 w/o ASB and $35 at the door. Tickets are priced per person. Tickets are on sale in the student store from 1:30pm-6pm. You must have a completed permission slip in order to purchase a ticket.
VUSD Student Task Force - VUSD is looking for students to form a task force to provide input and insight to the superintendent and school board. This opportunity is open to 10th and 11th graders. Letters were sent home in your AVID classes. There is also a copy of the letter on the VTEC website.
VTEC FFA is hard at work planning for our 2nd Annual Spring Fling Fundraising Dinner on April 4th. In order to host trips and leadership activities, we rely on donations from generous sponsors. Support the FFA and do your part in carrying a tradition! If you know someone who would like to sponsor the dinner, you can earn FFA Points. For more information or to obtain a sponsorship form, see Ms. Thompson or an FFA Officer.
Enchanted Evening Event - Prom Dress Give Away - March 17, 2018 at 6:30am at the Wyndham Hotel. Sign up in the office if you are interested.
Tux-N-Tails will be offering a discounted tuxedo rental to seniors for prom. Sign up in the office if you are interested.
Attention all students! VTEC is now a CSF (California Scholarship Federation) approved! See Mrs. Fraley in Room 6 if you missed Tuesday's meeting or if you have additional questions.
Denim and Diamonds/Foundation Meetings every Thursday at 6pm in Room 4.
Denim & Diamonds Help Needed - Denim & Diamonds, Saturday, March 3rd. We are in need of parent help. We are also in need of student help - Students needing Community Service hours may sign up in the office.

Yearbooks for Sale - Yearbook Pricing/Deadlines: $50 until May 21st and $55 for the remainder of the school year. There will only be a hardcopy option available this year. See Mrs. Fraley in Room 6, or any yearbook staff member with questions.
COS Bus Passes are available for sale in the office. They are $10 and you must have your COS ID card.
**Students were issued an ID card on picture day. If you misplace your ID card - you may purchase another one for $5 in the office**
SENIOR INFORMATION
The VTEC Scholarship Foundation Scholarship has been emailed to all seniors. Please complete the scholarship and return it to the office by Friday, April 6th.
Complete FAFSA ASAP and check your emails regarding FAFSA. FAFSA application deadline March 2nd. Check your email frequently for updates.
Scholarship Listing - Please check the Scholarship Listing on the website. It is updated with the most current scholarships. Be sure to complete Scholarships in a timely manner.
Attention Class of 2018! If you are a senior planning to attend College of the Sequoias next year, please stop by the office to explore the COS Career Technical Education Look Book. You can find information about COS CTE Degrees and Certificates. There is a sign-up sheet in the office for you to list your name and major. There's even a chance to be recognized by COS during National CTE Month in February. Please stop by before Friday, March 2. For more information, sign up for an appointment on Mrs. Williams' College & Career clipboard. You may also talk to your Ag and/or AVID teachers and discuss your interest and assist you in signing you up.
Congratulations to Devon Lee for earning the Smittcamp scholarship! Your hard work and determination paid off in a big way! Congratulations to Vin Bui, Grace Cunningham, Devon Lee, Kimberly Montiel, and Grace Webb on receiving college acceptance letters! VTEC is so proud of you!
Congratulations to seniors completing FAFSA and hearing back about Cal Grants, and other financial aid! There is one week left for those still needing to complete!
JUNIOR INFORMATION
Parents of Juniors - How to Apply to College - May 15, 2018, VUSD Board Room @ 6pm.
VTEC juniors will visit Cal Poly SLO on April 27th as part of our AVID College and Career curriculum. More details to follow!
VTEC sophomores and seniors will visit Fresno State on May 4th as part of our AVID College and Career curriculum. More details to follow!
AVID INFORMATION -
After meeting with each AVID class, Mrs. Williams will finish up counseling appointments with all juniors, and will meet with all sophomores in the coming weeks. Students will complete counseling forms in preparation for their appointment and must obtain parent signatures. Freshman, stay tuned as Mrs. Williams is heading your way late March!
COS INFORMATION
* The deadline for dropping with a "W" is March 23rd. "W's' negatively impact your future financial aid and courses earning a "W," "D," or an "F" , must be retaken the following semester before students may take another COS class.
Guest Speaker, Margarita Camacho from COS/CTE will present to all AVID classes in the coming weeks. Students will learn about programs offered, Career Coach, etc. Check the bulletin board for schedule of visits.
