Staff Development Day - January 29th -

STUDENT INFORMATION


Thursday, January 25th, "Dress Like a Teacher Day".  Students are invited to dress as their favorite teacher to earn spirit points for their class.

Parent Night - Understanding PSAT scores and preparing for SAT's.   January 25th, VTEC Room 4, 6-7 pm.  This is mainly for sophomores and juniors who tested in October, but everyone is welcome!!!

Parent Night - College Planning Workshop for Parents of Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors, February 6th, VTEC Room 4, 6-7pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.



Yearbooks for Sale - Yearbook Pricing Deadlines:  $45 until January 31st; $50 until May 21st and $55 for the remaining school year.  There will only be a hardcopy option available this year.  See Mrs. Fraley in Room 6, or any yearbook staff member with questions.

COS Bus Passes are available for sale in the office.  They are $10 and you must have your COS ID card.

**Students were issued an ID card on picture day.  If you misplace your ID card - you may purchase another one for $5 in the office**

SENIOR INFORMATION

Complete FAFSA ASAP and check your emails regarding FAFSA. FAFSA application deadline March 2nd.  Check your email frequently for updates.

Seniors that missed the FAFSA application workshop, just a reminder that we will be hosting the COS Financial Aid Office for a FAFSA/Dream Act Application Workshop.  It will take place on Thursday, January 25th at 6:00pm, in the board room, at the district office. Students do not have to RSVP, but they must bring the following:


Social Security Card (a copy of card is okay)




Driver's License or State ID (only if you have)




Alien Registration Number (if you are not a citizen)




YOUR 2015 Federal Income Tax Return Forms, W-2's, or last check stub you received in 2015. If you had more than one job then bring the last check stub received for each job (only if you worked)




PARENT(s) 2015 Federal Income Tax Return Forms, W-2's, or last check stub they received in 2015. If they had more than one job then bring the last check stub received for each job




YOUR 2015 bank statements and investment records (only if you have)




PARENT(s): 2015 bank statements and investments records (only if they have)




YOU and PARENT(s): Any records of untaxed income received (such as, Social Security benefits, child support received, TANF benefits, payments to IRS's or 401(k) or military or clergy allowances




Records of student grants, scholarships, and fellowship aid (including AmeriCorps Awards that were included in your (or your parents') adjusted gross income




List of colleges you have applied to or are interested in attending




Scholarship Listing - Please check the Scholarship Listing on the website.  It is updated with the most current scholarships.  Be sure to complete Scholarships in a timely manner.

Seniors have until January 31st to submit their senior portraits for the yearbook.  You may submit your photos to Mrs. Fraley in Room 6. If you do not submit a senior portrait, your school photo will be used.

COS INFORMATION


*         Students are responsible for dropping COS classes (moving schools, class difficulty, etc.)  You must see Mrs. Williams prior to dropping, and insure that your VTEC schedule is adjusted as needed.



*         The deadline to drop without a "W" is January 29th.  The deadline for dropping with a "W" is March 23rd.  "W's' negatively impact your future financial aid and courses earning a "W," "D," or an "F" , must be retaken the following semester before students may take another COS class.



*          Family's please help insure your student's success at VTEC and COS
