STUDENT NOTES

TODAY:

*         Seniors! If you have not taken your Senior photo with Essence, they will be on campus TODAY, October 5th. You should have received a pass with your picture time. If you did not receive a pass ad have not taken your picture with Essence, please see Mrs. Gomez or Mrs. Calvero in the Discipline Office.

*         Girls Soccer will begin conditioning Tuesday (Oct 5), Wednesday (Oct 6) and Thursday (Oct 7) at 3:30 PM after school. Please bring tennis shoes and meet out on the track. Any questions contact Coach Kurz in the girls locker room.

*         We now have weightlifting available in the after-school XL Program. We will be weightlifting from 3:30-4:30 PM after school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. If you would like to learn how to weightlift, or would like to utilize our equipment in the weight room, please join Mrs. Panuco (Miss Emerson) after school on the designated days!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*         Ablaze Club will meet in Room 605 during Lunch on Friday, October 8th. Join us for rosary making, pizza, prayer, and to learn about upcoming fellowship and service events. We hope to see you there!

*         Attention EDHS Students! Make-up Picture Day for students in grades 9-11 will take place Wednesday, November 10th. You may order pictures online at https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/xgN8CjR9mjSk1sW6j0i?domain=dorianstudio.com.

*         Attention Students: During Lunch, Save Mart will be randomly checking bags/backpacks and may request to see your receipt at any time.

*         Effective Immediately! REFUNDS will NO LONGER be provided for the vending machines. Use at your own risk.

SENIOR NOTES

*         Attention Class of 2022: Mr. Elms, your Learning Director will be available for college application help every Wednesday and Friday in computer lab 61 through Friday, November 19th. Communicate with your homeroom teacher to receive a homeroom pass to attend. *         Hey Seniors! Yearbook needs photos of Senior Sunrise for the Yearbook. The more pictures we can get, the better! The deadline to submit pictures is Friday, October 15th.

*         Attention Parents: The Access and Ability Center at COS invites you to their upcoming Virtual Transition Nights this year. They will be talking about options after high school - including employment, basic skills/professional certificates, and/or a college degree/certificate. This Virtual Transition Night is for high school Seniors who may need extra support in college and their families. The Virtual nights will take place on Zoom Monday, October 11th at 6 PM and on Monday, February 7th at 6 PM. *         Attention Parents of Advanced Placement (AP) Students:  All AP exams are now available for purchase. The cost of each AP exam offered through college-board is $96. You may purchase the exams either in the finance office on campus OR on the EDHS web-store online<https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/tEM4CDkVLDUQrTX2d3B?domain=webstores.activenetwork.com>. All test purchases must be made no later than Friday, October 15th, 2021. No deposit is required, but exams must be paid in full for El Diamante to order your exam from CollegeBoard. (If your student currently qualifies for free OR reduced lunch they can inquire about a reduced test price with Ms. Reynolds<mailto:treynolds at vusd.org> in the Student Services Office). Any student who does not purchase their exams IN FULL by October 15th will not have an exam ordered due to ordering deadlines and procedures implemented by the CollegeBoard. VUSD Fee Waiver: there is a one-time fee waiver provided by VUSD for one exam during the 4 years of high school. If your student chooses to use this for an exam this year they will need to submit the VUSD One Time Waiver Form.
