·         AVID Tutors will meet this week for Module 13 in Room 605 during homeroom. Core Content Tutors can attend TODAY, February 10th. AVID Elective Tutors will meet TOMORROW, February 11th.

          Attention Miners: The Visalia Unified Student Leadership programs are excited to welcome you to the 2021-22 Winter Formal being held at Groppetti Community Stadium at Golden West High School on Saturday, February 12th from 8-11 PM! Come out and enjoy a night of dancing, partying, and hanging out with all of the Visalia Unified community! Masks are recommended, and every student who buys a ticket will be required to provide proof of a negative test from within 72 hours of the dance. Tickets are $15 and you must be cleared with library and finance. Ticket sales will take place from February 7th-11th and will be before school, at lunch, and after school in the finance office and room 601. ·         Attention Miners: XL conditioning for Football will take place every week Monday-Thursday at the green turf by the weight room.

·         We now have weightlifting available in the after-school XL Program. We will be weightlifting from 3:30-4:30 PM after school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. If you would like to learn how to weightlift, or would like to utilize our equipment in the weight room, please join Mrs. Panuco (Miss Emerson) after school on the designated days!

·         Attention Miners: There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 14th due to a Staff Development Day. School will resume on Tuesday, February 15th.

     *   Thursday, 2/17- Yoga in the Dance Room during Lunch
     *   Friday, 2/18- Chalk Art at the GYM during Lunch

OLD ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         The Ablaze Catholic Club will meet TOMORROW, February 11th at lunch. Join us in Room 605 for pizza, to learn about our spring events, and to spread love through rock painting.

·         Attention Miners! EDHS Cheer and Dance are competing at Buchannan High School on Saturday, February 12th, 2022. Cheer will perform at 12:06 PM and Dance will perform at 2:30 PM.

          Tickets available for the 23rd Annual Los Angeles Black College Expo on Saturday, February 19th. Event will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Tickets are $10 each.  Representatives from Historically Black Colleges and Universities as well as a variety of other colleges and universities will be available to answer questions and offer on the spot admission.           Attention Students: Walgreens has established an exciting annual arts competition for high school teens in selected US cities - Expressions challenges you to create art that reflects your world and the issues you connect with:  Social Justice, Mental Health, Unity, Equity and more. You can express yourself in video, painting, short stories, poetry -  whatever moves you! The contest begins January 15th and runs through March 31st.           FREE COVID-19 TESTING. Testing available to VUSD students, parents & staff. Cottages open Monday-Thursday from 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Lunch from 1-2PM) and Fridays from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Lunch from 11AM-12PM). Testing available: PCR Tests. Results take 2-3 business days. Testing also open to parent/community members to volunteer at VUSD campuses.           Visalia Unified School District's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) will provide after-hours academic support through a virtual platform. This program is available to all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. Homework assistance will be led by certificated VUSD teachers in all grades and mostly all subjects. The AAA program helps students with homework from content previously covered in class.           Work Permits are processed in the El Diamante Student Services Office. Once the student, parent and employer have filled out and signed the work permit application; please turn the completed work permit in to Ms. Reynolds<mailto:treynolds at vusd.org> in Student Services.           Attention Seniors! Planning on applying for a scholarship from your El Diamante PTSA this year? You must be a member for at least 30 days in order to qualify for the 2021-22 school year.           Seniors: Grad Nite is Friday, May 13th, 2022. The destination will be Magic Mountain. The cost for Grad Nite is $141, CASH & CREDIT CARD ONLY; tickets will go on sale at 7:30 AM on Monday, March 7th, 2022 - this is the ONLY day you can purchase tickets. The ticket is non-refundable! You will need to line up to purchase your tickets with the people you want to be on the same bus with. There will be NO BUS CHANGES after you purchase your ticket. Students are not permitted on campus to purchase tickets until 7:00 AM - "camping out" is NOT allowed.  In order to purchase your tickets to Grad Nite, you MUST be on track to graduate and eligible for extracurricular activities the week prior to Grad Nite and make sure to clear all fines through the Finance office and the Library. You will NOT be admitted to purchase tickets for Grad Nite without a completed Grad Nite Permission Packet which includes your parent signatures and signatures from the Library and Finance Office. NO EXCEPTIONS. Copies of the Permission Packet will be provided to seniors at the Senior Meeting on February 2nd, 2022.
