Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Do you like to play in the dirt?  Do you like to eat?  Come join the Garden Club every Wednesday after school beginning on September 6th! No need to sign up!  Just show up!
* Students - Reminder, when you are calling home from the Main Office phone at the Student Window or another school phone, please leave a detailed message for the person you are calling and explain why you are calling.  This is very important, as the person will call back and we are unable to help them.  Also, always check in at Student Window before entering the office door.  Thank you.

*ASB is selling pizza today in the gym, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.
*Attention students, as a reminder to earn Fun Friday, as a school we must have 80 incidents or less for the month.  We currently have (23) incidents this month. Students must have good grades, good attendance and good behavior to be eligible to participate.  So let's make sure to show our La Joya PRIDE and help our school earn Fun Friday!  Our first Fun Friday of the year will be on September 8th!
*There will be no school on Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day.
*Attention Students:
Today you will have another opportunity to cast your vote for teacher and staff member of the month.  During 1st and 2nd lunch, Chromebooks will be available for every student to cast their vote for their choice of teacher and staff member of the month. Please don't miss this opportunity to acknowledge your teachers, and our wonderful staff for all the incredible things they do.  Thank you in advance for your participation.
*Report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, September 5th.
*Deliveries for students
Students - All deliveries for you should occur through our Main Office.  Please ask your parents to drop items off for you there, write your name and grade on them, and a pass will be sent to you.  Items should not be passed through the fence.

*The "I need to see you" forms will be given to each teacher for their classrooms.  These forms are to be completed by students wanting to see Mr. Gridiron, Mrs. Romero, Ms. Trujillo or Mr. Ranieri.  They will be in each classroom accessible for students to fill out and leave in a designated area in the classroom.
*Yearbooks
If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, the price is $40 until September 8th.  Hurry before the price goes up!

*Students, if you have not turned in an emergency card or had your parents fill one out online, please bring it to the Front Office by the end of the day.
After today, those who have not turned in a card will receive detention until they bring the emergency card to the office.

*Please support our fall school-wide fundraiser in selling Gift Check Books.  Sales start Tuesday 9-6-17 and end Wednesday 9-20-17.  The TOP selling 1st period class in both 7th and 8th grade will win a donut party! Top three sellers in both 7th and 8th grade will get to SPIN THE MONEY WHEEL! For a chance to win money!  Fundraiser money supports student activities such as school dances, end of the year celebration, 8th grade Adventure Park, fun end of the year school activities, and much more.   So sell, sell, sell!!!!

*Today is PRIDE spirit day!! Show your pride and dress in green or anything with La Joya. Showing your spirit is a great way to end Character Counts Week.  Dress code still applies.





SPorTs ANNOUNCEMENTS
*Students, are you up for a fun challenge?  Do you think you can beat Mr. Gridiron in Basketball?  Intramurals will be starting next week, and the first 30 kids who sign-up on Wednesday or Thursday at lunch will have the opportunity to play Mr. Gridiron in a basketball half court shoot off!

Volleyball @ Dinuba, game time is 3:30pm, release from class at 1:50pm.
