Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Attention students, as a reminder to earn Fun Friday, as a school we must have 80 incidents or less for the month.  We currently have (31) incidents this month. Students must have good grades, good attendance and good behavior to be eligible to participate.  So let's make sure to show our La Joya PRIDE and help our school earn Fun Friday.

*Every Hero Needs a Hero Needs a Squad. La Joya is participation in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student series fundraising program. By collecting donations, LLS can find effective cancer therapies. These therapies increase childhood leukemia survival rate from 3% to 90%. Please help by donating your change. You can donate it in participating classrooms, stopping by room 403 or find someone who is caring a personal donation box.

*Builders Club will not be meeting this week in RTI. Instead, we will be meeting on Oct. 11 from 3:30 to 4:15.

*Attention students!  If you are planning to attend a high school football game at either of the Visalia stadiums, a parent must attend with you.  No middle or elementary-age students will be admitted without parent supervision.

*Garden Club meets today after school.

*PE students
Remember that as the weather gets cooler, you are allowed to wear sweat pants, yoga pants, or any athletic type pants and they can be any color. You can also buy a pair of La Joya sweats or sweatshirt from either the boys or girls locker room for 20 dollars each.


*SPorTs ANNOUNCEMENTS

The JV Boys football team defeated Ridgeview 20-6.  KJ Daniels, Noah Garica and Jasper Malone scored the touchdowns.  Defensives standouts were Nick Senn and Cameron Ashford.  This put the team at 6-0 heading into the game vs. Green Acres at home on Wednesday.

The Girls JV Volleyball team defeated JFK 25-6, 26-24 on Monday.  Tania Olivares led the way with 11 straight service points including 3 aces and Saleen Mariscal added 7 service points and two straight defensive plays to win the second game of the match.  Way to go girls.  The team's next game will be Wednesday at home against Divisadero.

The Varsity Girls defeated JFK in straight sets on Monday to improve their record to 7-13.  Top players were Nikki Licon, Peyton Diaz, Maggie Anderson and Lidia Vega. Next game is Wednesday vs. Divisadero.


Volleyball is home vs. Divisadero,  game time is 4:00pm.
7th Grade Football is home vs. Green Acres, game time is 4:00pm.
8th Grade Football is home vs. Woodrow Wilson, game time is 4:00pm
