Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Athletics is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for water.

*       Tuesday, Oct. 31st
Even though Tuesday is Halloween, please remember that NO costumes are allowed to be worn to school.

*This week is Red Ribbon week:
Today is dress in anything Disney.
We will have activities each lunch to celebrate life without drugs. Look for the flyers and posters around campus for more information.  Dress code still applies.

Students - did you know that those who smoke marijuana tend to get lower grades and are more likely to drop out of high school than their peers who do not use?  Studies also suggest that people who use marijuana regularly for a long time are less satisfied with their lives and have more problems with friends and family compared to people who do not use marijuana.

Teachers, please show the red ribbon video in the drop box.


*PE students remember that as the weather gets cooler you are allowed to wear sweat pants, yoga pants, or any athletic type pants and they can be any color. You can also buy a pair of La Joya sweats or sweatshirt from either the boys or girls locker room for 20 dollars each.

*The people have spoken and the demand for a school t-shirt has been heard.  La Joya will soon be offering its very own school spirit t-shirt.  But wait, there is even more awesomeness.  How would you like to design it?

Here is your chance La Joya to show off your design skills and become a campus famous fashionista.  La Joya PRIDE Club will be putting on the La Joya school t-shirt design competition starting October 12th.  Entry forms can be picked up from Mr. Taylor in room 408 before or after school or during break.  All entry forms will be due to Mr. Taylor by 3:30pm today.  Finalists will be selected and the students will choose which design will represent them on their new school t-shirts.  For questions, talk to Mr. Taylor.  Let's see what you got La Joya!

Today, Cheer and Football clubs will be going to The Awards Banquet at the Boys & Girls Club. Please report directly to your coach.

*SPORTS NEWS

Attention all Wrestlers, come meet your coach, Anthony Aguirre, on Wednesday and get some pizza!
