Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


*All AVID students who sold candles, please come immediately after school on Thursday at 12:30, to the gym to collect your sold candles. Candles will need to be picked up by some students before we leave Friday.

*The Holidays are filled with such good cheer. How about spreading some of that good cheer to friends or staff members? AVID is selling Holiday Candygrams beginning December 13 th  through today, December 18th  for the value price of $1.  Candygrams will be delivered Friday December 21st during 7th period; so make sure you know their 7th period teacher's room number. Make someone's holidays special - get them a Holiday Candygram!!

*Orchestra Concert
There will be an Orchestra Concert tonight from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the JLC.   Come and enjoy a great musical evening!

*1st Semester Finals Schedule
Today is 0 period and 1st period Finals.  Students are out of school at 3:13p.m.  Wednesday is 2nd period and 5th period Finals.  Students are out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Thursday is 3rd period and 6th period Finals.  Students are out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Friday is 4th period and 7th period Finals.  Students are out at 12:30 p.m.  Please try to have all appointments scheduled outside these times.  Food served before school and at break only.

*PULSE Program
PULSE is collecting coats for women, kids, men and small children.  The last day to drop off coats to the PULSE program is Friday, December 21st.

*All students must stop at the student window before coming into the front office, with or without a pass.  If you do NOT do this, you will be re-directed to stop at the student window to check in and also be made to read the sign at the door.

 *Choir Concert
There will be a Choir Concert tonight from 7:00pm to 8:00pm at ELDHS.   Tickets are $3.00 at the door.    Come on out and hear some great Christmas music!



Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS


On Wednesday the JV boys basketball team defeated JFK 41-12. Leading La Joya on offense were Emmanuel Robles, (9 points), Santana Guijarro (7), Alvaro Flores (6), Keynen Gomez and Abraham Maciel (5), Isaiah Rivera (4), and Jayden Lopez, Jayden Dillihunt, and Connor White (2 each). Great defense from Lopez, Robles, Guijarro, Gomez, Rivera, and Jordan Sanchez.

Basketball/Soccer practice @ 3:30pm
Wrestling practice @ El d- 5:30pm

Wednesday 12/19

Home Game- Girls Soccer & Basketball vs. Green Acres- 3:30pm (release at 3:05pm)

Away Game- Boys Soccer & Basketball @ Green Acres-Bus Departure- 2:35pm.

Wrestling practice @ El D- 5:30pm
