STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
* The school spelling bee is today, January 18th during both lunches in LM3. 7th Grade 1st lunch, 8th grade 2nd lunch.
* Band is selling pizza tomorrow, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.
* It's that time! CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation) sign-ups begin today, January 18th before or after school! Bring your report card and $1 to Mrs. Gibson in room 101 or Mrs. Allen in room 503! Don't miss out on being a part of this prestigious society!!
*Our final dance is coming up soon. ASB/Leadership needs your help in choosing the theme for the final dance. Today at lunch, ASB will have chromebooks available for you to choose between Hawaiian Luau, Decades dance, Under the Sea, or Fiction dance. Please only vote once.

8th Grade Boys Basketball are at home for the 2nd Annual Al Wiley Classic. Release the players at 2:45, Game time is 3:30 vs. Divisadero
The La Joya Varsity Basketball Team defeated Washington of Dinuba, 37 - 30, on Wednesday. Offensive standouts were Nick Nelson (19 points); Austin Watson (8); Michael Ramirez (5 points); Chase Farmer and Darren Fisher (2); and Preston Boswell(1).
La Joya Jv Girls Soccer defeated Dinuba 5-0. Saleen Mariscal scored 2, Taylor Lucio, Jayden Villarreal and Bella Cabrera each scored one a piece.
The Varsity Girls Soccer team defeated Washington Intermediate School 3-0. Nadia Garcia scored 2 goals & Bella Flores scored 1 goal. Goal Keeper Mya Rodriquez recorded 4 saves.
On Tuesday the JV Boys basketball team defeated Dinuba, 39-28. Leading all scorers were John Chavez (12 points), Noah Garcia (9), Elijah Martinez (7), Joseph Diaz (5), Cooper Schimpf (4), and Elijah Tamayo (2). Chipping in with great minutes to preserve the victory were Jared McDaniels, Freddy Valencia, and Rylan Montgomery.
