Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Attention students
We will be having daily Tardy Sweeps.  Tardy sweeps will occur first thing in the morning and between every passing.  Any student that reports late to class will be assigned lunch detention. Excessive tardies may exclude you from participating in our end of the year activities. So show determination and get to class on time.

*Washington D.C. and New York City!
Interested in going to Washington D. C. and New York City in 2019?  There will be a meeting in Room 407 on Tuesday, May 22nd at 4:30pm with lots of great information about the trip!  Come and check it out!

*Attention students - As you are walking to and from school, your safety and the safety of those driving cars is important to us.  Please do not get in the way of or hit a bus as it is travelling to and from school.  This endangers you, the students on the bus, the driver, and potentially other drivers as well.  Thank you for showing PRIDE and representing La Joya well.

*       Dress Code Reminder
As the weather gets warmer, here is a reminder about the Dress Code.  The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows:  Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable.  Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.  Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves.  Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed.
*La Joya Students, the PRIDE STORE will be open Friday during lunch.  We will have pizza for you to purchase with your PRIDE tickets. 10 tickets per slice. Today is the last  Friday the store will be open  for you to redeem your tickets. Tickets NOT redeemed  today will expire, so come check out the PRIDE Store!

*Attention students:
The End of the Year Activity Day will be Thursday, May 24th for all eligible students.   This day will consist of an Extended lunch with music from 11:40 - 12:35 p.m.  We will offer sales of food vendors from Amigo's from ($2-$5.00); Tacos Galacticos ($1.00-$3.00) Quesadilla Gorilla ($5-9); Pizza ($2.00); Subway ($3.50); In & Out burgers ($3.50); Baskin Robbins ($2) Jamba Juice ($3.50) and Kona Ice ($3-6), and ASB Cookies & Water. The cafeteria is still available.  The Carnival Activities will be from 1:55-3:00.  Students will report back to 7th period and released at same time, 3:13.  At the carnival, we will offer sales of vendors as well.  We will have Carnival Games, Music, Bounce Houses, and many other Activities.  So, don't forget your money!   Dress code is still in effect.  Students must wear appropriate clothing.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Gridiron.  Thank you.
