Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Looking for something to do this Saturday?  Come to WIN Academy. You can play board and computer games with Mr. Hefner, do hands-on activities with Ms. Fierros, solve puzzles to complete an escape room and improve your creative writing with Mrs. Allen, learn how to analyze movies with Ms. Austerman, or get caught up in ELA with Ms. Moore. On top of that, attending helps you makeup an unexcused absence. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*Pizza Sales
Athletics is selling pizza tomorrow, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Red Ribbon Week is this week- October 22nd through the 26th.  We will be doing dress up days and lunchtime activities to show that you can have fun without drugs.  Today is Book Character Day- Dress as your favorite character from a book to show that you are addicted to books and not drugs. And tomorrow will be a Red day- "wear red to pledge not to do drugs."  Dress code still applies.

*La Joya Middle School is participating in Pennies for Patients to help raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). By participating in this campaign, La Joya can support LLS directly by raising money to help find a cure for diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. Additionally, the funds help improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The fundraiser will run from October 25 through November 9. All we need to do is for each one of us it to bring in any spare change and fill the boxes located in each classroom during the first period. The first-period class that raises the most money will win a donut party.

Cross Country Championship Meet @ Mooney's Grove 3:45pm (release time 2:15)
Football practice @ 3:30pm

Volleyball/Football Practice after school

Friday 10/26

No Fall Practice
