STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Musical Chairs?
Students, are you fast enough to beat your opponents in a game of Musical Chairs? Well, that thought is going to be a reality for several students this Friday, the 8th, during the Fun Friday lunch. We will be holding a free raffle for a chance for several students to compete against each other in a game of Musical Chairs to win a McDonald's gift card. Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place. Raffle tickets will be available for students during both lunches. Be sure to put your name in the raffle, to make sure you are chosen for Musical Chairs. Good luck!

*Fun Friday
Today, is our "Fun Friday" One-Lunch Bell Schedule.  Lunch will be from 12:35pm - 1:35pm.   There will be pizza, tacos, Churros, Kona Ice, and Jamba Juice for sale!   Come on out and enjoy!

* Don't worry, you didn't sleep past the last day to buy candygrams. It was just a nightmare. Well, don't let another nightmare of not getting candygrams for your buddies happen. Get yours Today; THE LAST DAY!   Taylor Swift said it best when she said, "Candygrams show you care better than flowers or candy". *Cafeteria News
   Vending carts in the cafeteria will be closed Friday, February 8th - Tuesday, February 19th.  Please remember to get breakfast before school or at break from windows 1 or 2 only.

*Pizza Sales
Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Staff Development Day
Monday, Feb. 11th is a Staff Development Day.  There will be no school.


SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to the JV Girls soccer team who beat Woodrow Wilson yesterday 13-0.  Beya Villarreal had 6 goals, Madeline Alvarez had 2 goals, and Keyana Speight had two goals. Carmen Gaebe, Rylee McDaniels and Taylor Vandergriff each had one. Taylor had two assists, Keyana and Madeline each had one and Morgan Philippe had one. Alisha Vasquez had 3 saves in goal first half. Great job ladies!

The LaJoya Varsity basketball team defeated Woodrow Wilson, 51 - 35, on Wednesday. Offensive standouts were Noah Garcia and Cooper Schimpf (11); Elijah Martinez (10); Johnny Chavez (7); Joseph Diaz (5); Max Martin (4); and Jaydan Christenson (3). Defensive standouts were Chavez, Martinez, Garcia, Martin, Schimpf, and Christenson.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls soccer team who beat Woodrow Wilson yesterday 3-1.  Reanna Soto, Taylor Lucio, and Jenna Mitchell each scored a goal. Reanna Soto also had 1 assist. Great job ladies.
