Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

* College Awareness Week
Most universities offer sports, and other amazing activities on campus: such as concerts, musicals, and cultural fairs. As a result, colleges develop a huge sense of school spirit and PRIDE. Tomorrow is College Gear day: Rep your favorite college. Hats will be allowed, as  long as they have a college logo. The lunchtime activity will be College Pictionary in the gym. This will be a chance to show off your artistic skills. Did you know California offers some of the best Art colleges in the world?
So don't forget, wear college gear and rep a college tomorrow!!!  Dress code still applies.
Teachers, please remember to decorate your doors for college awareness. There will be district points and the top class wins a donut party!

Congratulations to District 1 that won BOTH lunches of Career charades during yesterday's College Career lunchtime activity. Today's activity is college shoot out. So districts, send us your Steph Currys, and let's see if you can beat District 1!!

* Choir is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Congratulations to the La Joya "Odyssey of the Mind" team!  At the regional tournament held on Saturday, they came in 1st place, and also earned the most points in each of the three team competitions that day.  Team members are 8th graders Aubrey Brown, Riley Chism, Eavan Ford, Elaine Johnson, and Kevin Jolly, as well as Brooklyn Burch (who attends Ridgeview Middle School.)  Great job, team!  And good luck in the State Finals in Riverside on March 23!

*Attention CJSF members!  Don't forget sign-ups for the L.A. trip are on Friday at 8:00 in room 101!  Make sure to bring your money and permission slip!  We will sell out so make sure you are here on time!!!
*Please support our spring school-wide fundraiser in selling Cookie-Dough.  Sale start tomorrow, February 27th and end Wednesday March 13th.  Top three sellers in both 7th and 8th grade will get to SPIN THE MONEY WHEEL! For a chance to win $100!
*WIN Academy is this Saturday! Go to the La Joya website to sign up.



Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

Baseball and Softball bags can be placed inside the breeze way next to the girls locker room before school.  Please do not place bags inside the locker rooms, or have them dropped off to the front office.  Bags will be locked away during the day and will be available after school. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Souza.
