Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Looking for something to do tomorrow?  You can play some sports with Mr. Hunt, get caught up on assignments with Ms. Mederos, work in the garden with Ms. Sayre, or if you are in the play this is your rehearsal time. On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. *If you have an emergency card, please bring it to the student window before school, at break, lunch or after school.  For those who do not turn in an emergency card, or have one filled out online, lunch detentions are being assigned.

*Hey students!   Great news!  The deadline to sign up for the 2020 D.C./Virginia trip has been extended to Oct. 31st!   Find Ms. Austerman in Room 407, for exciting details!  This will be an awesome trip!

*Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Reminder to all play participants - play practice is today after school in LM3 until 5:00pm

*A big La Joya shout out to our marching band who played at last week's El Diamante game, they did an awesome job!   There will also be a band review this Saturday night at 8:00pm, downtown Visalia.  Come on out and enjoy some great music!


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

The La Joya Varsity football team defeated Green Acres, 36 - 0, on Wednesday. Offensive standouts were Keynen Gomez  (Quarterback); Jayden Dillihunt (1 touchdown); Emmanuel Robles (2 touchdowns and one 2-point conversion); Santana Guijarro (1 touchdown and one 2-point conversion); Frank Martinez (2-point conversion); and Jeremiah Zamora (touchdown). Defensive standouts were Macie Banks, Santana and Dillihunt (1 interception each), and Roberto Marquez.
