STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


*Garden Club begins tomorrow after school!!  No need to sign up, just show up!  See you there!!

*Attention fellow travelers!  Would you like to see Washington D.C., and Williamsburg, VA?  There will be an informational meeting tonight at 5:00pm and again at 5:45pm in Room 407.  Come and get more information!  See your History teacher or Ms. Austerman for more details.

*This Friday is the first Fun Friday of the school year.  There will be a one lunch bell schedule with Jamba Juice, Kona Ice and pizza for sale.

* AVID is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Hey La Joya Students and Staff! This week is Character Counts Week. Show your PRIDE by participating in the Dress Up Days. Today is dress in your favorite sports team's gear to demonstrate Fairness. Tomorrow will be a Disney Dress Up Day to represent Caring. Thursdays you can find a friend and dress as twins to demonstrate Trustworthiness. We will end the week on Friday with Retro Dress Up Day to represent Respect.  Dress code still applies.

*Looking for something to do this Saturday?  Come to WIN Academy. You can play Sports with Mr. Hunt, get caught up in a class with Ms. Mederos, or learn some history through movies with Ms. Austerman.  On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up<https://forms.gle/yhco7EXEZaLxjXWR7> online by Wednesday at 3:00, and you can have a lunch ordered for you. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*Monday, Sept. 16th is a Minimum Day, students are released at 1:30pm.

* Attention Explorers!  Remember to support our school-wide fundraiser by selling Gift Check Books. For more books, please see the representatives before school at the table set up by the front gate.  Money and books can be returned to your 1st period teacher or with the representatives. Sale ends Wednesday, 9-18-19. So sell, sell, sell!!!!

*If you would like to be in the school play- auditions will be afterschool on Friday. Stop by Room 502 or LM3 to get information about auditions as well as to pick your audition materials.

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 16th at 5:30pm in the Library.
