STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


*Garden Club meets today after school!!  No need to sign up, just show up!  See you there!!

*Hey La Joya Students and Staff! This week is Character Counts Week. Show your PRIDE by participating in the Dress Up Days. Today is Disney Dress Up Day to represent Caring. Tomorrow  find a friend and dress as twins to demonstrate Trustworthiness. We will end the week on Friday with Retro Dress Up Day to represent Respect.   Dress code still applies.

* Looking for something to do this Saturday?  Come to WIN Academy. You can play sports with Mr. Hunt, get caught up in a class with Ms. Mederos, or learn some history through movies with Ms. Austerman. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too. Sign up<https://forms.gle/yhco7EXEZaLxjXWR7> online before the end of school today if you want to order a lunch.

*Friday, September 13th is the last day to purchase a yearbook for $40. Starting Monday, September 16th the price of a yearbook will rise to $45.

*Monday, Sept. 16th is a Minimum Day, students are released at 1:30pm.
*This Friday is the first Fun Friday of the school year.  There will be a one lunch bell schedule with Jamba Juice, Kona Ice and pizza for sale.
*Sack Race?  Students, do you have enough speed and balance to beat an opponent in a Sack Race? There will be a Sack Race activity this Friday, September 13, during Fun Friday to see who is the fastest. We will be holding a free raffle today for a chance to participate in the Sack Race. The winner will receive a gift card. Raffle tickets will be available for students during lunch. Be sure to put your name in the raffle, to make sure you are chosen for the Sack Race. Good luck!

* Attention Explorers!  Remember to support our school-wide fundraiser by selling Gift Check Books. For more books, please see the representatives before school at the table set up by the front gate.  Money and books can be returned to your 1st period teacher or with the representatives. Sale ends Wednesday, 9-18-19. So sell, sell, sell!!!!

*If you would like to be in the school play- auditions will be afterschool on Friday. Stop by Room 502 or LM3 to get information about auditions as well as to pick your audition materials.

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 16th at 5:30pm in the Library.
