STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS



* Students, show your school spirit this week during College Awareness Week.  Today, come dressed like your future Career, and tomorrow is Dress '90's Day, so show your best 90's attire!  Dress code still applies.


*A reminder about the Dress Code.  The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows:  Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable.  Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.  Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves.  Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed. Hoodies, beanies, or any head gear may not be worn within the classroom.  Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight.  Also, beanies will not be permitted as of March 1.

*Calling all 8th graders!!!  Mark your calendar!  El Diamante cordially invites all incoming 9th grade parents to attend our 8th Grade Future Miner Night held on Monday, March 2nd.  This orientation will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the El Diamante Gymnasium.  This is an excellent opportunity to tour the EDHS campus, learn about the registration process and discover the exciting programs offered on our campus.  Tacos Galactico's and Bite Me Donuts/Ice Cream will be available for purchase!

* Hey, explorers, our totally awesome school dance is tomorrow night after school, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.  Like the dress up day on Friday, our theme for this dance is "All about the '90s" so if you need the 411, find Mr. Morris!  Tickets will be on sale this week for ONLY $3. See you there.

*Students attending El Diamante High School are invited to attend an informational meeting about the EDHS AVID program in Room 357 immediately after Future Miner Night on Monday, March 2nd. There will be current AVID students to answer questions, information about the application process, and free ice cream! Hope to see you there!
