TODAY:



1.       TUX & TAILS IS ONCE AGAIN ALLOWING BOYS TO SIGN UP TODAY FOR TUXEDO'S FOR PROM.  Student will have to go to Tux & Tails and be measured NO LATER THAN APRIL 26th.  Students must bring their School Student ID card to be measured.   If interested please sign up in the Counseling Office.

Track & Field vs. EDHS/GWHS 4:00 p.m./Early Release 2:30 p.m.
WYL Diving 11:00 a.m./Early Release 8:00 a.m.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.       **Redwood Dance Scholarship
Must be a 4 year Dance Force Member, plus one of the following: declared dance major, dance minor, college or university dance team member or contracted with a professional talent agency (specializing in dance).  Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship and what their focus will be in college (minor, major, dance team or professional talent agency).
Applicant must provide proof of enrollment & proof of major, minor, team or agency in order to receive scholarship funds.

2.       **RHS DREAM Dance Performing Arts Scholarship
Criteria to apply is the following:
Dance Major (BA or BFA)
Attending a 4 year University
3.0 GPA or higher
Proof of Major & Full Time Enrollment
Must provide proof of the above when applying for the scholarship & in order to receive the scholarship funds.  Applicant must submit an essay that explains why they should receive the scholarship, detailed description of their dance experience and explanation of their future goals in the art of dance.

3.      INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED DANCE AUDITION:  Auditions are Monday, April 29 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.  This audition is for incoming 8th graders and students .  that are not already enrolled in a Redwood dance class.  Students should have a minimum of 1 year of formal dance training.  Students with no formal training should sign up for Intro to Dance (no audition required). Students should wear dance attire & jazz shoes.  Bring the completed packet with you to auditions.  Students will be placed into one of the following classes:  Introduction to Dance, Intermediate Dance or Advanced Dance. *Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.  DANCE TEAM AUDITION (2days required) Day 1 - Monday, April 29th  6:00-8:00 p.m. This audition is for 8th - 11th grade advanced level dancers.  Students will learn the skills and dance combinations required for auditions.  Students should wear dance attire & jazz shoes.*Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.  Day 2 - Tuesday, April 30th  5:00-8:30 p.m.  This audition is for 8th - 11th grade advanced level dancers.  *Packets will be available April 3 @ Ridgeview, Green Acres & Redwood.  Students should wear solid color dance attire, jazz shoes & hair secured neatly.  Students will be placed into one of the following classes:  Introduction to Dance, Intermediate Dance,   Advanced Dance, or Dance Performance (Dance Team).

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.       MANDATORY CSF MEETING FOR LIFETIME SENIORS:  CSF Lifetime Seniors MUST attend a MEETING in the gym at lunch on Wednesday April 24th to prepare and rehearse for the luncheon at the Visalia Convention Center on April 29th.  Be sure to bring the signed district parent approval form and to have your introduction memorized.  We will go over important details and rehearse as a group.  In addition, Monday April 22nd is the last day to purchase tickets online at COS.edu/Foundation, by mailing a check to the COS foundation (915 S. Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA.  93277), or by calling 559-730-3861 and using a credit card.  REMEMBER - NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. 2.       TRY OUT FOR THE REDWOOD RANGER COLOR GUARD!  Thursday, April 25th thru Friday, May 3rd from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. in Room 81 (Band Room).

3.       REMINDER! It's time to sign up for Sports Physicals! Completed forms, signed with parent/guardian consent, are due back to the nurse, Mrs. Walkowiak, by April 26th. No late sign-ups will be accepted. Packets may be picked up in the office. Sports Physicals will be held on May 1st in the gym.

4.       Students- are you interested in digital photography, photo journalism, and making something that your fellow Rangers will treasure for decades to come? Join the RHS Yearbook staff- applications are now available, through Mr. Feehan (room 40) or your counselor. Applications are due on the Friday April 26th after Spring Break.

5.       DANCE RECITAL will be on April 26th at 7:00 p.m.; April 27th 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the LJ Williams Theatre.

6.       JUNIORS.....You are invited to apply to the Visalia Rotary "Camp Royal" Leadership Conference this summer! Applications are available in the Counseling office (Mrs. Torres).Deadline to submit your application to the counseling office is Wednesday, April 24th. Listed below are some facts regarding the application process and selection:
*         Camp Royal runs from Sunday, June 9th to Friday, June 14th...you must be able to attend the entire camp session.

*         Application and interview will be used to select students

*         Two letters of recommendation are required.

*         Students must write a 100 words or less essay entitled: Why I would like to attend Camp royal and leadership responsibilities you have had in the past



7.       GRADUATION SPEECH:  Senior Graduation Speech Auditions will take place during the week of April 29th - May 3rd.  If you are a senior interested in writing and giving the graduation speech, please sign-up in the Counseling Office by Thursday, April 25th.  Once you sign-up, you will be sent specific information regarding the date and time of your audition.  Please see Mrs. Barba-Tepper if you have any questions.

8.      POWDERPUFF is FRIDAY MAY 3rd in the Bowl. The JV game is at 6:00pm and the Varsity game is at 7:30pm.

9.       WoW Update, the finalists for Writing On the Walls have been notified. The envelopes have been delivered. Want to find out who wins? Join us at POETS ON THE PLAZA ON MAY 10TH (more info to come).  Thank you to everyone who entered, you rock!

2.       GRAD NITE is Thursday May 16th.  We will be leaving Redwood from the Mineral King Parking Lot to head to Magic Mountain at 7:00 p.m.  Students need to be at campus NO LATER THAN 6:45 p.m.
