Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Choir is selling pizza Friday at lunch, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

* Today is the last day to sign up for Saturday University and receive a lunch. Go to the La Joya Website to check out the classes and order a lunch today!

*Please support our spring school-wide fundraiser in selling Cookie-Dough.  Sales start Wednesday, February 21st and end Wednesday March 7th.  Top three sellers in both 7th and 8th grade will get to SPIN THE MONEY WHEEL! For a chance to win $100!


*The Hawaiian Luau dance is this FRIDAY!!! This will also be Hawaiian day, so dress in anything Hawaiian.
Don't forget, today is the last day to buy your dance ticket at the unbelievable price of $3. Starting tomorrow the ticket price goes up to the regular price of $5. Don't miss out on all the fun. Due to popular demand, we will have boxing once again, as well as other fun activities all for the price of admission. Refreshments will be for sale.

*AVID news:
Next week La Joya will be recognizing the importance of going to college with College Awareness Week. We will have videos each day, and college day on Friday to finish college awareness week. So keep college in mind next week.

Also, come help support AVID student's launch to college by eating at Panda Express all day Wednesday the 28th
Lastly, if you are interested in AVID for next year, come out to Parent Night Monday Feb. 26th or Tuesday Feb,. 27th  at 7:00 pm in the gym. Come hear about the benefits of being an AVID student, and how it can prepare you for college.


Sports news


Spring Athletic Try-Outs begin today, February 20th.  Sports offered are Baseball, Softball and Track.  Please be signed up on FamilyID prior to try-outs.


7th grade softball tryouts begin Wednesday, February 21st.
