Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Choir is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*The deadline to place congratulatory yearbook ads is January 28, 2019. Ads can be purchased and created at jostensyearbooks.com. Yearbooks are currently $45 and the price will rise to $50 on Feb.2nd. Yearbooks can also be purchased online or submit payment to Room 603.

*Monday, January 28th is a minimum day, students are released at 1:30pm.

* If you are interested in participating in Tulare County's Spelling Bee, it is time to SPELL!   See Mrs. Allen in Room 503 today or tomorrow during break or after school to arrange a time.

*WIN Academy
Looking for something to do this Saturday. Come to WIN Academy. You can play board and computer games with Mr. Hefner, get caught up on History with Mr. Saroca, or get caught up in ELA with Ms. Moore. On top of that, attending helps you makeup an unexcused absence. If you sign up by today you can have a lunch ordered for you. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Girls JV Basketball team defeated Valley Oak 19-5 on Wednesday.  Olivia Torres led the way with 8 points and the team was able to shut out Valley Oak in the second half, way to go girls.  The team's next game will be Tuesday at home against Washington.

Home Game- Girls Soccer & Basketball vs. Washington Intermediate- 3:30pm (release time 3:05)  Away Game- Boys Soccer & Basketball @ Washington Intermediate (Release time 2:15pm)


Wednesday 1/23

Home Game- Boys Soccer & Basketball vs. Ridgeview- 3:30pm (release time 3:05)  Away Game- Girls Soccer & Basketball @ Ridgeview (Release time 2:30pm)
Cross Country practice after school

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Mon. Jan. 28th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Library.
