STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


* Attention DC/NY 2019 participants! There is a mandatory parent and student meeting in Room 407 at 5:30 PM tomorrow, March 14th. We will be discussing important details regarding our trip! See Ms. Austerman in Room 407 if you have questions or concerns.

*Garden Club meets today after school.

*Cheer Packets
Cheer Packets are now available at EDHS student services, La Joya and Ridgeview front offices. Packets are due March 29th at place of pick up.  You must complete a packet in order to try out for the EDHS 2019 - 2020 cheer squads.  No late packets will be accepted.  The EDHS cheerleaders will be visiting the La Joya campus today during lunch.

*EDHS Dance Auditions
There will be a workshop held on Wednesday, March 27th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at EDHS in the Dance Room.  The audition will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the EDHS Dance Room.  Student must attend workshop in order to learn material to audition for dance team.  Students must complete dance packet available in the EDHS Dance Room or EDHS Student Services.  Students need to wear active/dance attire, tan or black jazz shoes, and hair secured out of the face.

*The Cookie Dough Fundraiser has ended.  Please return all money from the Cookie Dough Fundraiser to your first period teacher.

*Monday, March 18th is a Minimum Day, students are released at 1:30pm.

*Congratulations to the La Joya Beginning Women's Choir!  At Monday's Central Section CMEA Choir Festival, they earned "unanimous superior" ratings - which is the absolute best award of the day!  Congrats also, and many thanks, to Ms. Kenyon and Ms. Mattoon, for their hard work and wonderful direction and accompaniment!


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

Great start for the JV softball team as they defeated Washington Intermediate 21-0. It was complete team domination from start to finish. The La Joya bats were on fire as they scored early and often. Kiya Hillan and Aubree Cardona both had Homeruns today. Pitchers Jorja Moreno and Aubree Cardona combined for 6 K's and were backed up by a tremendous defense!
Our next game will be Wednesday at Ridgeview to continue our great start. Go Explorers!

The LaJoya  Varsity Softball Team defeated Washington, 14-12, on Monday. They were led by Pitchers Calissa Butler-Journey and Janessa Campos. Collecting hits in the game were -  Jaime Ramisca(3 hits); Calissa Butler-Journey, Lexi Rios, and Kiersten Shade (2); Campos, Karissa Ortiz, Natalie Moreno, Anjolie Cibrian, and Lynea Rivera (1). Defensive standouts were Ariel Garcia, Natalie Moreno, Kiersten Shade, and Shyann Charley.

All sports practice after school



Parent ANNOUNCEMENTS

The next PTSA meeting will be held on March 18th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Library.
